Did you forget to take photos of a great trip with your friends? Maybe you want to be alone but reflect something completely different from the world?
If any of these questions apply to you, pay attention: a company has developed an AI that generates fake images of you and your friends that shows you doing something fun that has never happened.
“Imagine if Midjourney knew what your friends were like… Introducing Hotshot!” tweets one of the app’s co-founders, Aakash Sastry, who echoes The_Byte. “Take photos with any of your contacts doing anything“.
In the app demo, Sastry shows off some Hotshot-generated photos of himself and the company’s other co-founder. eating a salad in a fancy restaurant, something that has not happened.
As you can see in the tweet, the images are, to say the least, curious and leave much to be desired. The photos completely border on the concept of the uncanny valley and have a somewhat cartoonish style, almost taken from a stock image.
And as you can imagine, Twitter hasn’t been silent. “It’s pretty creepy,” comment one social network user wrote. “My friends would kill me if I tried this,” another wrote. “No wonder,” culmina.
