Where and how to find your ideal client – Academia de Consultores

It seems like an easy task, but if we take it from theory to practice, perhaps many would not approve the lesson. If we ask you: where to find your client? Surely you will tell us: “on social networks, because it is what is fashionable”. Some, in more detail, can answer: “on Facebook and Instagram.

And yes, they may be valid answers, but where is the real market research there? First tip to know where and how to find your client: analyze where they make their purchasing decisions.

Who is your client?

Before defining it, we will let you know what is the difference between client, buyer and consumer.

This is a very frequent doubt and where there can be some confusion, the ideal would be to attack all three prospects, but basically, with a good strategy, in the ideal media, one will gradually become another.

The buyers They are those people who pay to acquire your product or services. They have a problem or need and you provide them with a solution. They may come back to your business or they may not.

The consumers They are those who use your products. We give you an example to make it easier: if you sell baby items, your buyer will be the mother, but your consumer will be the baby.

And finally, the clientare those people who already have a bond with your brand, are those loyal buyers, who within a market of possibilities, decide to buy from you.

What should you evaluate to know where and how to find your client?

1 Where do you make your purchasing decisions?

It is not always on Instagram or on the social network of the moment, there you will only look for a reference. Yes, you can sell through social networks, but you must know where you will be able to make the most sales.

Example: if you want to buy a new phone, on social networks you can find a store, perhaps one or another reference. But to know the features, best options according to your needs and reviews of phone models, you will visit a forum or specific pages that talk about the features and benefits of the phones.

If so, where should you be if you sell cell phones? In forums or specialized pages.

2. Don’t copy the competition

“I am on YouTube because my competition is there”, but you are not really aware if being on YouTube brings any noticeable benefit to your brand. So think better than your competition and focus on your segment that is unique.

Example: If you sell home decor items, you’ll probably find plenty of videos on YouTube on how to decorate, but where do people actually look for home decor ideas? On Pinterest, then, that’s where you should be present.

3. How much can you invest?

If you are on many platforms and you want to do it well, it means a lot of investment. If you have the necessary resources, it’s fine, it will be an excellent investment, but you’re just starting out, it’s best to do an analysis and select the right platforms to make the investment and thus reach more people.

Example: You can have an account for each social network where your audience is, but pay attention to which one generates the highest number of sales and start investing there.
