The black mocha has had several outbreaks in Spain, especially during the summer. It is important to take precautions because it can be a transmitting agent of different diseases.

What is the black fly?
Blackflies, also known as black flies, are a family of small dipterans (2 to 5 mm), generally dark in color and differ from mosquitoes by having a rounder body.
It is only the females that carry out the hemosuction (sting), since they use the blood proteins to close the gonotrophic cycles and produce eggs.
Its hematophagous activity is diurnal and its habits are exophagic (they bite outside, in the open air).
precautions
Black flies have diurnal habits, the females ferociously attack mammals and birds in the vicinity of their breeding place, which are streams, rivers or torrents, generally with current, in which the water is highly oxygenated and with a certain amount of organic matter, but not contaminated, biotic conditions necessary for the development of the larvae.
Some species are the vectors of Onchocerca volvulus and Mansonella ozzardi, parasitic helminths responsible for the so-called river blindness, which affects more than 17 million people in the Afrotropical and Neotropical regions.
The same black fly in birds is responsible for the transmission of Leucozytozoon, a protozoan parasite.
Its bite is very painful, it is characterized by an internal bleeding point, where the hemosuction has occurred, and a great inflammation that lasts between a few hours and several days.
In case of bite, it is essential to visit the doctor
