Repetition
Repetition is the action and effect of repeating or repeating (redo or say what had already been done or said). The concept comes from the Latin repetitĭo.
For example: “This discussion seems like a repeat of last week’s conflict”, “Francisco looked at his wife and said the same thing again: the repetition of the words, this time, generated the desired effect”.

In the media, repetition is often used to name the issue or to program previously broadcast. In this sense, repetition is the opposite of premiere: “Once again they are repeating the World Cup final”, “Tomorrow I’m going to watch a replay of the U2 concert”, “I don’t know why they advertise this movie as a premiere, if it’s just a repeat”.
As a general rule, what television channels do is resort to repetitions either when it comes to a program or a space that has been very important and that surely many people want to see again, or when something falls off the grid and they need to fill some sort of time slot.
In this case, for example, we could highlight that one of the series on the small screen that has been repeated the most times around the world is the comedy “Friends”, which tells the story of several American friends who are thirty years old and who They must deal with all kinds of personal and work situations.
However, it should not be overlooked that, on other occasions, repetitions are broadcast to form the programming of “secondary” channels of the same company that do not yet have a large audience or do not have their own products.

Repetition can also be a Figure of speech which consists of deliberately repeating words or concepts with aesthetic intention or to establish an idea: “Did you see the game? What a good game! I can’t believe we won that match.”, “Juan dies, Miguel dies, Gastón dies, young people who fight for liberation always die”.
It is known as epanadiplosis either epanalepsis to the rhetorical figure consisting of the repetition of the same words (either one or more) at the beginning and at the end of one or several sentences: “Blue like the blue sea”, “Green I want you green”.

Repetition in art, the military field and watchmaking
In the artistic field, the term repetition is also used in another sense. Specifically, it is used to refer to that painting, drawing or sculpture that has been redone by its author. In this way, what the artist achieves with the action is to improve the work or simply offer a somewhat different variant.
In the same way, we cannot forget that within the military sphere there is what is known as a repeating rifle. It is a firearm whose main feature is that it is equipped with a charger that allows various cartridges to be fired in succession.
The mechanism that uses clock to give the time whenever a spring is touched is also called a repetition.
