What is Order – Definition of the Concept

Definition of

Order

Order is he act and consequence of asking: want, require or demand something. It must be established that its etymological origin is found in Latin. Specifically, it comes from the verb “petere”, which means “to go towards”.

The term can be used in different ways depending on the context.

Among the words that can work as synonyms for order, we come across demand, sale, request, output, sale or dispatch, for example.

For example: “I’m going to ask you: don’t treat my daughter that way again”, “Please, call the pizzeria and place the order for tonight”, “I still have a lot of orders to deliver, so I will be home late”.

In a broad sense, when a person makes an order communicates a desire or a need to someone with the intention that the other take care of satisfying that demand. Suppose a mother makes a request to her adolescent son who is about to go on a trip: the woman tells the young man that when he arrives at her destination, he should contact her. By making this request, she hopes that her descendant will fulfill it.

The notion of order is usually used in the field of trade. In this framework, an order is the order that the client makes to a vendor or manufacturer. An ice cream parlor, to cite a case, receives orders from consumers who want to have ice cream. In some cases, the order is delivered directly to the premises, while in others it is sent to the buyer’s address through a delivery service (deliveryin English).

When a person has made a purchase or order through an online store, they have a resource in that one through which they will be able to track the order. That is, you will be able to know when it is ready, the moment it leaves the store and the date it will be delivered.

At present, many gastronomic establishments take orders through Internet. The individual who wants to order food must use an application or an online platform to select their menu and define the payment method.

Precisely when a person places an order for food, by telephone or through the Internet, from an establishment in question, then two options are established. One is that they go to the place itself to pick it up at the indicated time or that they take it home. In this last sense, we can establish that the establishment can have its own delivery people or carry out home delivery through the employees of companies specialized in this service.

In the same way, we cannot ignore that when Christmas arrives, the little ones of each house write their letter to Santa Claus or the Three Wise Men to ask them for toys or wishes that they want to be granted. Thus, they can ask for anything from a board game or a doll until a family member who is sick recovers completely.
