Definition of
Cheer up
Originating in Latin anĭmus (which, in turn, derives from a Greek word that is translated into Spanish as “blew it”), cheer up is a term that can be used as a synonym for the ideas of energy, effort, willpower and worth. To cite a few examples: “Cheer up, you are close to finishing your degree and receiving you”, “You have to gather your spirits and tell Alejandra what you feel”, “The coach gave encouragement to a team that dreams of reversing the series”.
According to the theory, mood may also be linked to the intentions either wishes of a certain individual: “I did not intend to offend anyone, so I want to apologize to those who felt attacked by my statements”, “I didn’t call you in the mood to fight”, “He arrived at the place with the intention of fighting, insulting and offending those present”.

The good mood and the bad mood
In everyday language, the good mood is identified with the happinessjoy and a predisposition that, in general, is positive: “Today I am in a good mood: I like sunny days”, “We have some problems, but with good spirits everything is easier”.
In the opposite direction, the bad mood or the fallen spirits It is linked to sadness, decay and depression: “Let’s go to Marcos’s house, he is downhearted due to the death of his grandfather”, “I’m worried about my uncle: he’s been in a bad mood lately and hardly eats”.

In the same way, we cannot overlook the existence of various adverbial locutions that make use of the word that we are now analyzing. So, for example, there is the expression narrow your mindwhich is used to explain that a person in question has become intimidated or frightened by a specific event.
