This week’s theme is the sea of refreshing: splash! Or what is the same, splash, splash. You’re going to have to get wet and I mean get wet in the literal sense of the word 😉
How does it work? (Reminder)
Every week I will propose a new challenge, it is a topic that you will have to capture in a photograph and upload it to the Facebook page of the blog, putting in the description the keyword that I will indicate for each topic. The themes will be varied, from portraits to Macro photography, through landscapes, black and white photography, or babies. The topics will be proposed on Saturdays, so that you have all the Weekend to work them. You will have one week to upload your photograph (one photo per participant), until Friday of the following week. On Friday or Saturday I will update the article with the photo that has captivated me the most and I will propose a new topic, and so on…
Weekly Challenge 95: Splash
You may wonder why I call it splash if there is a word in Spanish that defines the same concept, well, it is for several reasons, one because it seems more attractive to me and two, and main, because that is how I encompass splash and splash with a single word. 😉
You have already realized that water is very attractive to photograph, what I still do not know is if you have tried it, so this week I challenge you to do it because it is a wonderful way to practice and learn. I know it’s not easy, you’ll have to arm yourself with patience, but when you get a result you like, you’ll jump as fast as water! Who says water says other liquids, right? Maybe it can help you to read this article or this other, as advice or inspiration. Try to be original and take care of the composition. The key is to freeze the movement of the water (or any liquid) for which you will need to use very fast speeds and… patience 😉 which, as a good photographer, I know you have! And just as it doesn’t matter if it’s water, coffee or any other liquid, it can also be the splash of an animal, a person or an object (or all of them!), the possibilities are endless, so… come on, I want to see those splashes fun and well focused!
As usual, to participate in this week’s challenge upload your photo to the Facebook wall from the Photographer’s Blog: In the description of the photo please mention the keyword “Splash Challenge” followed by a title of your choice.
Alternative Means to Participate
For those who do not be from Facebook I have enabled new social networks to participate.
- Flickr: accessing the Group Mural of the Photographer’s Blog and uploading the photo directly. Give your photo a caption and be sure to mention “Splash Challenge” in the same.
- Twitter: uploading the photo directly to Twitter with the hashtag #ChallengeSplashBdF
Happy photography.
Update
Well I was wrong! And how! I thought that being a very specific challenge the answer would be rather weak, but it has been quite the opposite! You have sent many photos and of great quality. I repeat myself more than garlic, I know, and I have no choice but to thank you again, and from the bottom of my heart, for continuing to participate. I must also congratulate you, what great photos! And how difficult you make it…

The photo that has caught my attention this week has been the one of Jose RL «Falling Strawberry». I like that milk has been used as a liquid to make it stand out even more and create an excellent color harmony. He has been able to perfectly freeze the movement of the milk while playing very well with the depth of field, blurring the background while adding softness to the texture of the strawberry. The image is fresh, attractive and sweet, just like the red fruit that causes the splash. I love the idea of the spoon, with the strawberry and the milk they seem prepared to be consumed directly… it is so appetizing that I think that right now I am going to prepare some strawberries!! This image should not have been easy to achieve, so congratulations! Keep it up friends and friends of the blog.
