Violet, purple, purple… This week the challenge is to photograph a color, the color of spirituality and majesty.
How does it work? (Reminder)
Every week I will propose a new challenge, it is a topic that you will have to capture in a photograph and upload it to the Facebook page of the blog, putting in the description the keyword that I will indicate for each topic. The themes will be varied, from portraits to Macro photography, through landscapes, black and white photography, or babies. The topics will be proposed on Saturdays, so that you have all the Weekend to work them. You will have one week to upload your photograph (one photo per participant), until Friday of the following week. On Friday or Saturday I will update the article with the photo that has captivated me the most and I will propose a new topic, and so on…
Weekly Challenge 89: Violet
Violet is the color that is associated with the spiritual and also with nobility. But it is not only that, it brings calm and encourages reflection. As with the rest of the colors, you can use it to convey sensations. This week we suggest that you send us a photograph in which the protagonist is the color violet, it can be that of a flower or that of an object that is of this color, or a fabric, a food… it doesn’t matter. The important thing is that this color predominates, or that it is the important element in the image.
As a follower of the blog, you already know that in the challenges I always ask you for something more than shooting the main element. I ask you to go one step further and add your signature to your photography, don’t forget creativity and being original. That you send a photograph with a composition that makes me take my hat off, or that you give it rhythm, that you shoot from a more attractive perspective, or that provoke an emotion in me. Any of these details, separately, together or in different combinations, will be what makes your image stand out from the rest. The weekly challenges are for you, so that you can put into practice what you are learning, so that you get to know your camera and develop your photographic eye. Don’t just shoot something purple, create an attractive image, here are 20 tricks to play with color. You have the tools, you have the passion for photography, put them together and create a work of art that leaves me speechless.
As usual, to participate in this week’s challenge upload your photo to the Facebook wall from the Photographer’s Blog: In the description of the photo please mention the keyword “Violet Challenge” followed by a title of your choice.
Alternative Means to Participate
For those who do not be from Facebook I have enabled new social networks to participate.

Perhaps because these dates make me a little more sensitive or perhaps because the photo deserves it (which I have no doubt about), this week I want to highlight the image of Evol Kalydh. A silhouette with both aesthetic and emotional strength. It is a delicate composition in which the horizon is in the lower third of the image, giving greater prominence to the sky, and in which the rule of thirds has been rightly respected by placing the silhouette in one of the points of interest, so that it becomes stronger. The silhouette is very well achieved, revealing just enough and telling a story. About the colors of the sky nothing more than to contribute to the beauty that nature has drawn and the author has captured, that magic hour, in which when it seems that we lose the important thing, the sun, is when the good things really begin, the great show visual. And so you can read the image, as a metaphor for life, there are those who think that when fatherhood or motherhood arrives you lose many things (independence, comfort, time for yourself…). However, when it seems that you have lost everything that you believed so important, that is when the most wonderful thing in the world arrives, when your capacity to love multiplies, when your independence is worth nothing because you do not want to be alone, you want to have your baby always with you, when your most valuable time is the one you spend together, when his smile makes you the happiest person on the face of the earth, that is the magic hour of your life. Congratulations Evol for achieving an image that impacts both visually and emotionally!
