Tile or ceramic walls or floors usually look good at first, but over the years they don’t look the same.
Many people try thousands of ways to clean ceramic tiles, but sometimes they don’t pay attention to the real problem: the joints.
The space between the tiles, which is filled with cement, plaster or some other rough material, is not easily cleaned like the smooth surface of ceramic tiles, and the products that are usually used on them not only do not clean the joints; but they moisten them and drag all the dirt towards them, since they are usually uneven.
The solution to this, however, is very simple. After cleaning the tiles, you must also do it in the joints. But how? A sticky material is needed that can help remove accumulated dirt, even over years. And the answer… It’s a candle!
In addition, the wax will remain on the joints, forming a waterproof layer that will take longer to turn dark the next time.
Materials
1. Take the candle and remove the wick, or cut it to make it easier for you to use the tip to insert it into the joints.
2. Pass the tip of the candle over the joint repeatedly until the dirt sticks to it and the joint is white.
3. Scrape the dirt off the candle (or go by cutting the candle and sharpening the tip again) and run it through the joints all over the wall or floor.
4. When it’s clean, pass the candle once more so that a waterproofing layer forms.
And ready! The wall will be as good as new, especially if you always cleaned the tiles but it had been a long time since you took care of the detail of their union.
