Perhaps we have all dreamed of being rich and never having to worry about money again. But, generally, it is nothing more than a fantasy, which we put on the same level as being able to fly or reading people’s minds.
But the truth is that there are people who do not see it as a dream, but as a challenge and a specific goal. And many of them actually manage to accumulate good wealth. maybe they are not Bill Gatesbut they manage to live a prosperous and abundant life.
Do you want to be one of them? Would you be willing to do everything possible to be rich?
First, you should check if you have any of these habits, and if so, change them. Since the researcher Tom Corley he dedicated himself to analyzing a group of millionaires for 5 years, to see what they had in common.
In the process, he discovered that they never do these things:
1. Neglecting health
If someone wants to be rich, the first thing they should do is take care of their health and body.
This relationship may seem strange, but it really shouldn’t surprise you: the best way to work well, make good decisions, and generally have the energy to make money is to be at your best physically and mentally.
2. Eating junk food
In relation to the above, food is an important point. According to the analysis of Corley70% of the rich eat less than 300 calories of junk food a week.
Eating a healthy and balanced diet is a good first step in the quest to be wealthy.
3. Sleep little and get up late
Another thing rich people have in common is that they get up early in the morning, and don’t go to bed too late. Many times we have the idea that, in order to achieve prosperity, we must work until dawn, sleep little, drink a lot of coffee and not stop for a moment.
However, research shows that to be wealthy it is important to rest well, between 7 and 8 hours a day, and to go to bed and wake up early.
4. Save on a bottle
Something very common that we do is save change somewhere: a piggy bank, a bottle. It is not bad, but it is not what will give us riches in abundance.
It can be used to buy those pants that you like so much, but the truth is that when we save in this way, we are saving “what we have left over”. In other words, we are not contemplating savings as an important part of our future project.
It’s not a bad habit to save change, but it should never be your main source of savings if you want to be rich.
5. Keep money “under the mattress”
Assuming that you have decided to save seriously, planning what part of your income you are going to allocate to raise money for your project, you already have a good way to be rich. The problem is that “quiet money” loses value over time.
Whether you keep your money under the mattress or in a safe doesn’t matter: every day that money doesn’t work for you, it’s less money. The rich know well that money makes more money, and for this reason, they save to invest.
Investing and undertaking are the only ways to go from financial equilibrium to prosperity, and to protect wealth while multiplying it.
6. Bet
The dream of being rich magically tempts us all, and that is why the lottery and casinos always have work. However, it is still a fantasy: yes, you may get the big one, but most likely not. Are you going to spend your life waiting?
Only 23% of rich people gamble, but none of them expect their entire fortune to come from gambling or chance, but rather they work to achieve it.
7. Stop reading books
Perhaps you think that reading is a waste of time, that the important thing is to be working all day if you want to be rich. However, most millionaires read at least 30 minutes a day. Even 63% of the rich listen audiobooks while in the car.
It is no coincidence: 86% of the wealthy people analyzed by Corley ensures that education is a fundamental pillar to make a fortune. So, learning something new every day, being interested and always researching is a great tool.
8. Watch several hours of TV
Obviously, if the rich prefer to read every day, they dismiss television a bit. Most wealthy people only watch an hour of TV a day.
And from that hour of TV, surely they do not watch programs like reality shows or gossip: only 6% of the millionaires analyzed by Corley watch programs in which the viewer is invited to observe the details of another person’s life.
9. Spend more than you earn
Pretending: that is the worst thing that someone who seeks to be rich can do. The basis of wealth, at first, is savings. And being in debt will never allow anyone to save and get ahead.
Many people use all their savings and even resort to their credit cards or ask for loans simply to “not be left out”. To have the same as their co-workers, to show a lifestyle that is not really theirs.
This will never allow you to get ahead. Whether you dream of being a millionaire or simply of being financially comfortable, the most important thing is that you be honest with yourself, do your math well, and don’t spend more money than you have.
How about? Do you do any of these things?
