These are the 10 most valued fashion companies in the world in 2019

  • Zara has climbed its position among the most valuable fashion companies in the world and is now in second place, with a value of 18.424 billion dollars (16.205,4 million euros).
  • For the fifth consecutive year, Nike leads the 2019 Apparel ranking, prepared by Brand Finance, and almost doubles the value of its main competitor Adidas.
  • H&M falls to fourth place, losing ground to Inditex’s flagship, which is burdened by excess stock.

Zara stands out among the most valued fashion chains in the world. The flagship chain of the Inditex group climbs positions and becomes the second most valued international fashion brand in the world, hot on the heels of Nikewhich leads the ranking for the fifth consecutive year Apparel 2019prepared by Brand Finance.

The sportswear brand has once again taken the top spot, increasing its value by 16% compared to the previous year to $32.4 billion (€28.5 billion), driven by the growth of its sales in China, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Adidas, which rounds out the podium in third place, has gained ground on its rival Nike in some markets such as North America. Its value rose by 17% to 16.7 billion dollars (14.7 billion euros). Yet the gap between Nike and Adidas is huge, with the former’s value almost double that of the latter.

Meanwhile, Zara rose 5.6% compared to a year ago and reached a value of 18.424 billion dollars (16.205,4 billion euros). Inditex’s flagship has replaced H&Mand the Swedish company has fallen by 16% in value to fourth place, with 15.9 billion dollars (13.985,4 million euros). The change is explained by the fact that Zara’s online store has entered 106 new countries while H&M continues to be burdened by excess stock and repeated complaints from British customers about sizes that are too small.

Inditex also has three of its brands among the 50 most important in the world. Beyond Zara, Bershka is ranked 38th and Massimo Dutti is ranked 45th.

The biggest jump in the top 10 is Uniqlo, whose value increases by 48.1% to $11.991 billion. (10.547 million euros). The Japanese fashion chain is in full international expansion and has Roger Federer as the standard-bearer of the brand’s marketing strategy.

In 9th place, the chain is supported by its strong supply chain and high quality, its cheap clothes that transcend gender and age and, of course, the increase in its sales.
