The full Moon in Aquarius: reflections on freedom

The moon is round in the sign of Aquarius. She shows herself and shows us something. But what lights up inside us and/or around us?

Hand in hand with this energy promoted by his friend Uranus, we could ask ourselves: What is freedom for me? What place does it have in my life? Do I dare to be myself? Can I let go of control and flow with what life brings me?

When talking about freedom, first of all, it is important to think about all the misunderstandings that exist around this topic. Being free does not mean that we do not care about anything or anyone. It is not about disappearing from a meeting or cutting someone off at any moment. Nor to walk alone through life without being able to commit to anything or anyone.

The moon is round in the sign of Aquarius, mobilized by its friend Uranus. I wonder what is freedom for me? What place does it have in my life? Can I be myself? Do I dare to let go of control and flow with what life brings me? I think in freedom and I can’t help but think about all the misunderstandings that exist around this topic. Being free does not mean that I do not care about anything or anyone. It is not disappearing from a meeting or cutting someone off at any moment. Nor walk alone through life without committing to anything. All of this sounds more like defense and disconnection than freedom. Both feeling trapped or that I have to support something that I don’t know how to change, as well as living running away for fear of being trapped, are two sides of the same coin. Escaping is not the same as being free. If I’m escaping it’s because I feel persecuted, and nothing less free than feeling that way. So what is freedom? What do I understand by freedom? For me freedom has to do with an experience of feeling space and being in truth. From a sincere encounter with myself, with an internal look of acceptance and non-judgment, openness to the world and to others, without fear. Or afraid, but accepting it and risking trying the same. Or if the fear and discomfort are too great, also listen to me (be honest with myself) and choose. Feel that I can choose. And this does not mean that everything depends on me and that I can choose everything in life, but it does mean that I can put a limit to what hurts me. Being able to say yes and also being able to say no. Being able to do it and being able to choose when and how to do it. Freedom is not outside of the link but an experience that flourishes more strongly in the link. In the true and sincere bond with oneself and with the other. There where I find a place, a space, to be myself, listen to myself, express myself, play, cheer myself up, laugh, cry, and above all, accept, accept and love. Love as a possibility of choosing, empathizing and respecting (not feeling obligated or forcing), building together how we want to bond. Just as freedom flourishes in the bond, I believe that love (with oneself and with the other) flourishes when there is freedom.

All of this sounds more like defense and disconnection than freedom. Because freedom is not something closed and unique, but its meaning varies depending on each person. Both feeling trapped or that we have to sustain something that we don’t know how to change, as well as living fleeing and escaping for fear of being trapped, are two sides of the same coin. Escaping is not the same as being free. If we are escaping it is because we feel persecuted, and nothing less free than feeling that way.

So what do we understand by freedom?

Freedom has to do with the experience of feeling space and being in truth. It is about a sincere encounter with oneself, with an internal look of acceptance and non-judgment, openness to the world and to others, without fear. Or afraid, but accepting it and risking trying the same. Or if the fear, discomfort or pain are too great, also listen to us (be honest with ourselves) and choose.

Feeling free is feeling that we can choose. And this does not mean that everything depends on us and that we can choose everything in life, but it does mean that we can put a limit to what hurts us. Being able to say yes and also being able to say no. Being able to do it and being able to choose when and how
do it.

Freedom is not outside of the link but an experience that flourishes more strongly in the link. In the true and sincere bond with oneself and with the other. There where we find a place, a space, to be ourselves, listen, express ourselves, play, encourage ourselves, laugh, cry, and above all, accept, accept and love.

Love as a possibility of choosing, empathizing and respecting (not feeling obligated or forcing), building together how we want to bond. Just as freedom flourishes in the bond, I believe that love (with oneself and with the other) flourishes when there is freedom.
