The arguments of alternative medicine against the attacks of allopathic medicine

In the heart of the Historic Center of Mexico City was the mobile office of Professor Avilés. The only (according to him) scholar of Yaztec Chinese medicine swore that the Chinese ant tea he prepared could cure diabetes. In addition, he also said that he was capable of curing cancer, cholesterol, rows, lupus, gastritis, high blood pressure, varicose veins, ulcers, asthma, strokes, flu, headaches, heart attacks and even AIDS.

The ancient studies of professor (not doctor) Avilés are one of the reasons why allopathic medicine has sought to regulate the medicinal industry throughout the world. And it is that naturopathic experts whose studies seek remedies for conditions without the use of chemicals or drugs, tend to fall into the same credibility as that of a man who swears that a Chinese ant tea can cure almost all the diseases that are fashionable.

Barcelona recently hosted the Spanish Association of Naturopathic Doctors, which includes certified doctors, acupuncturists, homeopaths and more. They sought to respond to the orchestrated attacks against them, which they claimed were made to invalidate their practices.

Why is it often said that natural medicine has no scientific basis?

For a couple of centuries, allopathic medicine has sought scientific rigor to validate the effects of its treatments. Tests and objective results that demonstrate things with facts. On the other hand, naturopathic medicine, which has a history that can be traced back thousands of years, does not have studies as concise as those of allopathic medicine, so justifying its results is much more difficult.

Alternative medicine, however, has concise arguments such as the one that the control of drugs is a monopoly that seeks everything except the well-being of users: “The prepaid companies and the pharmaceutical industry have taken over the profitability of medical work. Their standards they are entrepreneurial and not based on the good of the patients, but on the benefit of the company”.

The above words come from the book “Healthy health, the disease industry”, in which the attacks of allopathic medicine against naturopathic medicine, especially homeopathic medicine, are presented and answered. It seems that it is an endless war, but many begin to have an agreement that can be reached: use of alternative medicine as long as it does not interfere with or replace science and objective tests.

In short, alternative medicine can cure a headache or a cold, either because it is a mild one that does not respond to a more serious illness, or because it is one for which traditional medicine does not find a solution and the alternative does. Trying alternative medicine does not mean dismissing allopathic medicine or saying that it is not necessary to go to a traditional doctor. Consulting a doctor is always the best option when we are faced with a disease that traditional medicine knows how to treat correctly and gives us an answer. However, perhaps that should not mean dismissing everything that alternative experts may advise, who in many cases also assume their task with responsibility.
