In recent weeks I have been commenting on the best digital SLR cameras from major brands such as Canon, Nikon, Pentax, Sony, and as the culmination of this cycle, today it is the turn of Olympus, a versatile brand whose specialty has not only been cameras but also specialized audio systems and advanced medical equipment. However, the saying “He who covers a lot does not squeeze” does not seem to apply in the case of Olympus, since it has been able to manufacture very good cameras that cover a wide range of users (beginners, advanced, professionals, …).
As if that were not enough, Olympus has been a pioneer in introducing several advances in digital SLR photography: they were the first to adopt the four-thirds (4/3) system, the first to conceive of dust-resistant sensors, and the first to implement the system of LCD screens with LiveView.
If you are interested in buying an Olympus camera, then I leave you the following options that for me would be the 3 best Olympus SLR cameras.
Olympus E-450: It has in its favor its ease of use and its weight and small dimensions that make it a manageable camera even in the hands of a child. It has 10 megapixels, a dust sensor protection system, and a more than attractive price that is very difficult to find in competing cameras (around 300 and some euros, camera and lens included).
Olympus E-PL1: This is a four-thirds (4/3) type camera, cameras that combine the smallness and comfort and ease of a compact camera with the professionalism and precision of the objective/lens of SLR cameras.
In this case, the Olympus E-PL1 is equipped with 12 megapixels, 3-level image stabilizer and video recording in HD mode (720p). Its price moves below 500 euros. Undoubtedly a more than attractive option but for all photographers and amateur photographers who do not want to suffer with the weight of a huge SLR camera. | See price in Fnac.
Olympus E-620: Following the same line of Olympus, this is a small camera in size, light and weight, and that meets the demands of any amateur and intermediate level photographer: 12 megapixel sensor, integrated image stabilizer, live view, flip-up LCD screen , etc.
In burst mode shooting, the camera reaches 4fps (photos per second) without any difficulty, its autofocus is almost fast thanks to its 7 focus points, and its extra functions such as scene modes and facial detection will make your life easier. to more than one.
As you can see, the options that Olympus offers in terms of SLR cameras are quite limited, the good thing is that they are all cameras focused on the beginner user: both for price, as for features and ease of use.
I have been able to use some of these cameras occasionally but I have never personally owned an Olympus. Do you have an Olympus SLR or are you thinking of buying one? Please tell us your impressions below in the comments.
Oh, and if you know of someone undecided on the subject, share today’s article with them via Twitter or Facebook, maybe you’ll clear more than one of their doubts 😉
