Buying a reflex camera is always an important decision, because it will accompany you in the best moments of your life, it will capture the images that you want to retain forever, the moments that you do not want to fall prey to oblivion, that beauty that captivates you and I would like to keep it on your retina forever… Your camera will be your travel companion, your friend, the one that cannot let you down in those transcendental moments. Before buying, make sure that it is the right decision, that you have a “feeling” with it and that you will form a good team. And since expanding the range of options is always good, today I present to you the SLR Sony A58.
Unlike traditional SLRs, it is a camera with a translucent mirror. In order not to go into very technical details (this is usually very boring and does not always contribute much) I will tell you that what this type of camera achieves with this system is an ultra-fast continuous focus and an autofocus of great precision and speed. In other words, in addition to being smaller and lighter (for not having the traditional mirror system), they achieve greater sharpness even in difficult conditions such as a race or other sports.

Not all cameras are suitable for all people, each camera is aimed at a specific audience and with certain expectations. Just as the most expensive cameras are not better, no matter how much you can pay for them. Why do you want to buy a very expensive professional camera if you are not going to get even half of it, the buttons are going to look like a hieroglyph and you are going to end up shooting automatically? Or the opposite, you will not intend to buy the cheapest machine, although its possibilities are very limited if you live from this… Well that… Before reading on, you will be interested to know that this is an ideal camera for those who start with SLR camerasinveterate travelers who do not like to carry a lot of weight and those who opt for a versatile and quality camera but without paying a very high price.
A camera that “makes work easier”
And not only because it weighs less than 500 grams. and is small, which facilitates its transport, but the viewfinder It allows you an accurate real-time view of the scenes you are about to capture to instantly preview and modify exposure settings. That is, you do not have to wait to shoot to see the histogram or the result to see if it is well exposed or not and have to erase if it is not the case. You can do it at the time of shooting and you save yourself the repetition.
It also offers help for framing. Its automatic mode suggests a professional framing possibility and you decide whether to accept it or not. I personally think that if you already know the art of framing, you will have a better creative eye than a machine. But that is your decision, if you like what it offers you… it is another tool that you can use!
If you don’t have time to adjust the parameters… its range of automatic modes is very wide to cover different situations, up to 11 automatic modes! (I can hardly think of that many situations, I’m used to five… 😉 )

- Record and shoot up to 8 frames per second with a special mode, 5 frames per second in normal mode.

- video recording in Full HD with fluidity and great detail, because it has a continuous autofocus that will ensure that no detail is lost, even when zooming.

And since we like to find fault with everything 😉 , well, we will also have to say something negative, right? Well, perhaps the most negative thing is the viewfinder system, which, when used to the others, can be a bit strange. But in the end I guess you adapt, just like the new blog design, right?
Price
Of course, the price is one of the important points to deal with, or I would even say almost the most (as the economy is… 😉 ). The Sony A58 is one of the most affordable SLRs right now. Its price is around €400 on Amazon (sometimes they offer it discounted for less). Not only is it an attractive price, but considering the benefits of the A58, few SLR cameras on the market will be found at that price level.

Conclusions
The Sony A58 It is a light and small SLR, therefore very comfortable to transport. Its features make it very interesting for its price. If you are starting out in SLR photography, your compact has outgrown it, you like to photograph car races or sporting events or you are going to go around the world and your SLR weighs too much in your backpack… this may be your ideal camera.
