Report on the addictive and harmful effects of smoking tobacco.
(Introduction)
Tobacco is one of the so-called legal drugs, which has been consumed for centuries and thanks to its promotion in cinema, television, print media, as well as its use by personalities (mainly from the show), which has been widely disseminated. , especially in recent times in populations whose ages oscillate between 13 and 70 years, having a considerable increase in terms of consumption by women, becoming a very large factor in the proliferation of diseases and the death rate worldwide, this thanks to the various harmful substances that it has, since it causes damage to various organs and systems, mainly in terms of the cardiopulmonary system, it affects other organs such as the brain, and others, thus it is also one of the main causes in various ways Of cancer.
(Content)
The tobacco itself is the leaves of the tobacco plant native to America, and was used by the Native Americans, smoking it mainly in magical-religious ceremonies. When the Europeans found out about it, they introduced its use in Europe and its popularization from then on, being consumed either through pipes, cigars and other methods. However, it was not until the invention of cigarettes that the increase in respiratory and lung conditions (especially cancer) increased in consumers (both active or smokers, as well as in passive consumers), this due to the use of substances highly poisonous industrial substances in the manufacture of cigarettes, by cigarette companies (who knew the harmful effects of substances such as tar and other products), which despite this continue to be used, mainly as a consequence of various economic interests.
Tobacco is highly addictive thanks to substances such as nicotine, which is a highly addictive substance, which causes effects such as increased phlegm in the respiratory tract, intestinal disorders, accelerates heart rate, decreases appetite, produces a temporary pleasant sensation, improving the state mood, stimulating memory, and have relaxing effects, but these apparently beneficial effects last a short time, making the body have to consume more nicotine (tobacco), to obtain the same relaxing and stimulating effects, but having precisely the opposite effects to those mentioned after stopping consuming the nicotine they contain, which causes withdrawal syndrome.
(Main points)
Tobacco consumption produces effects such as elevation of heart rate, changes in respiratory rate, rise in blood pressure, it produces immediate effects in the brain when inhaled, presenting a sensation of reduced anxiety, relaxing the person, but with brief effects. because after approximately five minutes of having smoked a cigarette, the body begins to feel anxiety that is only temporarily mitigated after the new introduction of nicotine into the body, that is, by smoking tobacco again, which creates a vicious circle.
1.- The short-term effects of continuous consumption of this drug produces a decrease in lung capacity, which reduces the physical capacity of the person, produces respiratory diseases, loss of smell, high mucus or dry throat, hoarseness, hoarseness, cough, pharyngitis, laryngitis, and high susceptibility to contracting respiratory infections.
2.- In the medium and long term, the risk of contracting bronchitis, pneumonia, pulmonary emphysema, gastric ulcers, circulatory problems, arteriosclerosis, thrombosis, and heart conditions increases, as well as the development of various cancers (mainly lung, pharynx, larynx, nose, and the rest of the airways.
3.- In pregnant women, smoking affects reducing fetal growth, preventing the baby from developing correctly, increases the chances of abortion, premature births, and various complications during pregnancy and childbirth that can cause damage to the child and the mother.
(Conclusions)
Tobacco, and especially its consumption (active or passive), through the use of cigarettes, is a habit that in the short and long term produces conditions for the body, which, if this habit is not stopped, can cause serious illnesses and death.
The consumption of tobacco, in addition to being addictive, causes withdrawal syndrome, with symptoms such as strong desires to smoke, emotional tension, irritability and anger (even anger), drowsiness and/or insomnia, headache, as well as the aforementioned respiratory conditions, cancer and death.
The increase in the use of this drug in underage patients, as well as its use by pregnant women has been increasing, with which we anticipate an increase in respiratory diseases and cases of cancer, lung, and other types.
The large number of people affected by the effects of this drug are proof of its harmfulness, which is why, in the opinion of many researchers, this drug should be prohibited, which has been stopped by powerful economic interests (mainly by the cigarette industry). and tobacco growers).
Tobacco in general, and in particular the use of cigarettes, should be eradicated in one way or another, or at least diminished, due to the various medical problems and deaths that it has caused and continues to cause today.
