In the Sierra de Guadarrama you can find remains in perfect condition from the Spanish Civil War, a part of the history of this country that is still an open wound for many people.
Throughout history we have met remains of different civilizationswars, ways of life… We have found archaeological remains that have come down to us due to the care and respect that has been shown to nature but, unfortunately, we can also see how there are places that have been destroyed by the hand of man preventing us from discovering much more about the story.
With this, what I intend is to join the support of the care and study of history through respect for nature and the environment. There are many people who do not know that in the Sierra de Guadarrama there are civil war remnants perfectly signposted and studied, both on the republican side and on the nationalist side.
You can find 25 forts, bunkers and machine gun nests that will tell you about the history of a country.
There are those who consider that they have survived to this day, in the conditions in which they are found, for this very reason. Moreover, from the world of cinema there has been a pro-environment movement in which three different short films have been generated in the Sierra de Guadarrama National Park to invite viewers to reflect on the care it requires, on the value of flora and fauna, as well as on the historical aspect found in these mountains.
We also join this call, nature is something that we must admire and take care of, it gives us more than we can perceive and holds historical surprises for us.
Here I leave you the making of documentary “The Good Love”which shows a traditional Guadarrama pilgrimage that has many centuries of history.
It has been recorded by students of the School of Cinematography and Audiovisual of the Community of Madrid (ECAM), supervised by Fernando Franco and directed by Gabriel Azorín and starring actors Elena Ballesteros and Nancho Novo.
