People with ugly handwriting are smarter, study finds

Although technically the letters are the same, there are as many ways to write them as there are people in the world. Each one draws them in his own way, that is why there are those who are specifically dedicated to studying what our personality is like according to the way we write.

The letter is an expression of our pulse, of the fear that is expressed in our trembling hands, of our ease, and of many other personal traits that become visible in the strokes of the letters.

In this line, a study carried out by researchers from the University of yalerevealed that those who have ugly handwriting tend to be more intelligent.

At work, published in the scientific journal the American Journal of Psychology, Samples of notes from girls and boys with different intelligence quotients were analyzed. The study revealed that those who got better grades from elementary school to university tended to write with sloppy handwriting. The scientists stressed that, despite this, the spelling used was always correct.

“Children with poor handwriting showed high mental abilities and mental agility above the average. For them, the information they obtained was more important than making an effort to write a good handwriting,” he said in this regard. arnold L. GesellProfessor of Psychology at the University of yale.

In this way, they pointed out that handwriting can reveal information about the relationship between physical and psychological processes, even more than any other voluntary movement.

You are probably wondering why this is. As the researchers explained, the brains of people with poor handwriting work faster than their hands. That’s why those with higher IQs prioritize the information they process, rather than the way they write it.

What do you think about this? How is your handwriting?
