Most trips, unless you arrive by car, will begin at the Delicias train station. A station that concentrates national and international trains, as well as buses. So it will be normal that you find yourself a little lost when you arrive, but at the same station there is a tourist information point.
Unlike what happens in other cities, the old town – where the main attractions are – does not correspond to the city center. Therefore, if you are looking to start your tour, you should head towards the old town, where the Cathedral of the Savior of Zaragoza and the Basilica of Our Lady of Pilar. This last basilica is the symbol of the city and whether you are Catholic or not, it is worth a visit.
How do I start my tour of Zaragoza?
I recommend that you start your walk from the central station, until the Aljafería Palace (point A to B on the map), along Avenida de la Ciudad de Soria. The Aljafería Palace is an 11th century palace declared a UNESCO Heritage Site and headquarters of the Cortes of Aragon. It is one of the main attractions of the city and you can visit it inside for only 5 euros. In addition, it offers free guided tours.
From the Aljafería palace you can walk towards the Basilica of Our Lady of Pilar, Zaragoza (point C on the map). It is a journey of about 20 minutes walking, time that will pass quickly as you appreciate the alleys of the city center. The other alternative is to take the public bus.
No trip would be complete without a visit to this important symbol of Zaragoza and Spain. The best views of the Basilica can be obtained by crossing the river on the Stone Bridge, easily recognizable by the sculptures of the lions that guard the entrance. From this part of the city you can take the best photographs of the center and you can also take the opportunity to get to know the Jesús neighborhood.
From this point you can move to almost all the other attractions walking less than 30 minutes and only if you want to go to the area of the Expo Zaragoza Site, which houses the aquarium, the Congress Palace and the Municipal Sports Center, it is recommended that you use public transportation.

How to get from Delicias station to the center?
The first thing is to decide by what means you want to get to the city center.
