One-day route in Seville: what to see and how much it costs –

Seville is one of the favorite cities of travelers and not only for its many attractions, but also for being one of the cheapest in Spain and all of Europe. A couple of days are necessary in the city, but if you only have one day here I give you the basic Seville route in one day.

What to see in Seville?

The best place to start a visit is in the historic center of the city, in one of its bars, where for about 4 euros you can enjoy a typical Andalusian breakfast: a piece of bread with olive oil, tomato and salt, and a good coffee or juice to accompany.

10:00 am – Free tour of Seville

After a good breakfast how about a free tour of the city. In Seville you can find the famous Free Walking Tours, guided tours that are offered free and where you can leave a tip at the end. There are several companies offering these tours and in my case I took it at 10 in the morning in Plaza Nueva with Seville Free Tours (You recognize them by their yellow umbrellas).

This tour of Monumental Seville takes you to see the main points of the old town from the outside: the Town Hall, the Bullring of the Real Maestranza de Caballería of Seville, the Real Alcázar, the Torre del Oro and the Archivo de Indias.

12:00 pm – Plaza España and María Luisa Park

The tour ends at noon in Plaza España, one of the most beautiful in the entire country. Stay a few minutes to enjoy the square at your own pace and the María Luisa Park, located a few steps away.

1 pm – lunch time

When you finish, walk towards the Triana area so you can take a walk along the banks of the river, take the typical photo of the Triana bridge and eat in one of its restaurants. If you don’t want to go too far you can eat at the Lonja del Barranco market on the banks of the river.

3 pm – Real Alcázar of Seville

After the meal it is time to visit the Royal Alcazar, known for being the oldest palace in use in Europe or where the famous television series was filmed Game of Thrones. I recommend buying your ticket online to ensure your place, or hire a tour that allows you to skip the line.

The entrance fee is 11.5 euros and 10 euros for the guided tour.

5 pm – Seville Cathedral

One to two hours is the recommended time to calmly explore the Alcázar, so when you finish it is time to cross the square to visit the Seville Cathedral inside. There are mass times and other visiting times, check before planning your day to be sure you will be able to enter.

Travel tip. If you prefer you can see the cathedral inside if you go to mass, this way it is free.

7 pm – Barrio de la Santa Cruz

After visiting the Cathedral you only have to walk a little to reach the Santa Cruz neighborhood, famous for its alleys and legends.

8 pm – Dinner

It’s time to look for something for dinner, along the streets of Santa Cruz and throughout the center you will find many options, but if you want something special, you can go up to one of the terraces to enjoy the city at night.

10 pm – Flamenco show

If you still have strength left, what better way to end your day than with a flamenco show.

Where do I stay in Seville?

If you are looking for accommodation in Seville, the best area to stay is in the city center.

If you are looking for a hostel I recommend you Black Swan Hostel Seville, I stayed there and I really liked it for its atmosphere and numerous activities (many free). It has shared rooms from 13 euros and private rooms from 40. More information and reservation here.
