- It is Nikon’s first DSLR to feature the NFC system. Don’t rush, I’ll quickly explain what these acronyms derived from “Near Field Communication” mean. It simply means that you can send images directly from the camera to a mobile device if you have the free Nikon Wireless Mobile Utility app..
- It is compatible with a new Nikon ME-W1 wireless microphone (optional) that can capture sound up to a distance of 50 meters.
- They have introduced a specific menu for video settings and advanced options for audio control.

Apart from the news, below I will tell you the most important features of this camera.
- 24’2 megapixels that offer you excellent print quality in your enlargements. Also very useful for those who have a hobby of cutting on the computer (I strongly recommend that you cut in the scene and get closer if necessary, but hey, in emergencies this megapixel jug saves you).
- 51 points: Do you know what that is? Well, one pass. You can focus very, very precisely on your target, in addition, this camera allows you to do it very quickly.
- ISO100-25600: beyond the numerical values, this camera performs very well in low light conditions. You won’t have to fear noise with her 😉
- Autonomy: If you have a fast finger and on an outing (or getaway) you shoot a thousand photos, don’t worry, you won’t have to take the charger with you. Unless what you want is to record video, even so, you have up to 80 minutes of recording, which is quite a lot.

DX-format
You already know that in the blog we don’t really like technicalities and words that we don’t know, that’s why I’m going to explain to you in a very simple way what the DX format of this camera implies. Nikon has two types of sensors, a smaller one (DX) and a larger one (FX):
This means that the image suffers a small “crop”. The difference between a photograph with DX or FX format can be seen in the following image.
In fact, the most important thing you should know is that both formats are suitable for this camera, while only FX lenses are suitable for FX cameras. This is an advantage, don’t you think?

Assessment
It is a very versatile camera, very fast in focus and that offers great quality in detail. Video recording is exquisite even in low light conditions and is resistant to dust and moisture. The novelties that it presents are more revolutionary at the video level than in photography, so if this is not your strong point, it is better to stay with an older model. It is also not the lightest camera on the market, nor does it have the flip-up screen so desired by some, but… what did you want? You already know that the perfect camera does not exist just like the perfect people do not exist 😉
