Advantage

Leaving aside the beauty of the design, the Nikon 1 J5 is a very comfortable and versatile camera, pleasant and consistent when holding it in the hands, with the right size to be comfortably portable and at the same time comfortable to use. The dials on top of it, they allow us to work with them without having to navigate within the menu, a detail that manual mode users will surely appreciate 😉

But what really stands out about this camera is its shooting speed and focus accuracy even in low light situations, thanks to its 171 point hybrid focus by contrast and phase detection. It also highlights the good level of detail and color and noise control up to 1,600 ISO, giving us images with very good image quality.

• It does not have a viewfinder, nor the possibility of incorporating one. For some it will not be a problem, for others who are used to seeing the world through the viewfinder, it may be.

• It does not have a hot shoe for an external flash. Well, you may never have even considered adding one, but if you were thinking of doing some fancy stuff with the external flash on this camera, forget it.
• It has many competitors. We have already said in its day that Nikon joined the mirrorless bandwagon a little late and with modest results compared to other brands. Although it has improved a lot, the competition is still stiff.
