In Superhistory we have already talked to you on several occasions about what World War II was and the figure of Adolf Hitler, so I want to talk to you now about Nazism, one of the most terrible movements of humanity and that still has, sadly, some followers.
We can define the Nazism like everything that is related to the regime that ruled in Germany between 1933 and 1945, whose leader was Adolf Hitler and that led to what is known as Third Reich.
Origin of Nazism:
- Although identified with Hitlerthe Nazism was actually born in the 1920s with the creation of what is National Socialist German Workers’ Party (NSDAP, Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei)and that makes it also known as Nazi Party.
- The word Nazi is related to National Socialism and although many confuse it with being fascism, the truth is that there are several differences between the two concepts.
- Among the characteristics of this party or in fact what they proclaimed and what they advocated, are the authoritarianism and military expansion typical of the Prussian heritage as well as the opposition to rationalism, liberalism and the democracy.
- In addition, their racist sense and doctrines are known, through which they proclaim the Nordic peoples as the Aryan race, which they distinguish not only as superior to the rest but also because their culture and morals were superior to that of the other races.
- Regarding his philosophical beliefs, we can say that Nazism is quite close to the thoughts and theories of the German Friedrich Nietzschewhich idealized the State or exalted the idea of the «superior individual».
Hitler elected president of Nazism:
- Hitler he is elected president of the party in 1921, the same year in which they create their flag with the “famous” swastika or swastika on a white background.
- Hitler He was imprisoned until 1924, as soon as he was released from prison, he regained the presidency, received the support of many, promising to give work to the unemployed and the return of national prosperity, and although he was appointed chancellor in 1933, he would end up proclaiming himself dictator.
Nazism after 1933:
- The party is organized from then on, so that its most faithful members occupy high government positions, in addition to expanding its domain throughout Germanywith the creation of the SS, which organized special combat divisions to support the regular Army at critical moments in the struggle to seize all the territories.
- The Security Service or SD is also formed, which is in charge of the operation of the Nazi concentration camps, in which all those Jewish inhabitants are imprisoned.
- The “promises” of work for all offered by Hitler they were never fulfilled and in fact the coming to power of this party was one of the darkest moments in the history of Alemanina, and of humanity, without forgetting either their participation, and in fact being one of the causes, in the Second World War.
Nazism in the 20th and 21st centuries:
- After the end of World War II, and even after the trials for war crimes took place mainly in the city of Nuremberg, Nazism remains, although not as alive, and as a small movement in the Federal Republic of Germany.
- This movement resurfaces with more force after the German reunification of 1990, formed by discontented youths who have chosen Jewish, black, homosexual and other groups as targets of their violent acts.
- Neo-Nazi organizations have also emerged in different European and American countries. In fact, in Spain for many years various fascist and ultra-right groups have taken some ideas or precepts from Nazism to define their own ideologies.
