Feeling fear is one of the worst things that can happen to you as a photographer: fear of not knowing how to use the camera, fear of experimenting with photography in manual mode, fear of using post-processing and developing tools…
Fear is a feeling that completely blocks you, inhibits your creative capacity, paralyzes your neurons.
I know a lot of people get scared when they hear about photo developing tools like Lightroom. A terrifying, insurmountable fear that takes hold of you and makes you believe that you are too clumsy to master such a tool.
I say that there is no photographer or clumsy student. The one who teaches and communicates is the only clumsy one in this story. I have repeated it ad nauseam: the mission of the one who teaches is to transmit, communicate, make people understand, whatever it may be and whatever the cost. When a photography student does not understand something, 99% of the time it is usually because the teacher in front of them is failing something.
I recently shared with VIP Readers of this blog (aren’t you yet? Become a VIP Reader here. It’s free) the news of the exclusive (and private) launch of LIGHTZOOM, a photography course entirely dedicated to Lightroom. A course in which we try to show Lightroom for what it really is, a photography tool, a purely artistic tool.
An extension of the photo camera.
A dark room.
The place where the photographer takes shelter, after a photo session, gives himself body and soul to what he has in front of him, and outlines a triumphant smile of satisfaction as he sees how his photography is taking definitive shape.
Currently we have opened the registration to the course publicly so that everyone can access this training that we propose from Photographer’s School. You can get all the information about the course, methodology, materials, registration, etc. at the following link: Lightroom course.
To whet your appetite, I leave you below some examples of photographs that we reveal within the course, step by step.
In this photo, see how we have restored the lights on the inner faces of the mountains and how we have given the sky that magical color of sunset.
Take a look at the incredible power of Lightroom’s spot filters, with which we’ve applied zonal reveal. Thanks to that we have been able to recover a lot of detail in the interior walls of the cave, in addition to giving a more vivid color to the surface of the river water, among other improvements.
Nothing worse than a majestic castle ruined by a completely flat photograph. In the course I show you how I gave a little more life to the green of the trees around the castle, how I enhanced the exposure of the monument, and how I accentuated the strength of the clouds at the top of the frame.
These are just some examples. In the course we see more types of photographs, including portraits or black and white, among others.
I want to thank the good reception that Lightzoom has had, our Lightroom course and the positive comments that have been coming to me from those who are already registered and who have already been able to start with the agenda.
I also want to answer some of the most frequently asked questions that have come to me in recent days:
How long is the lightroom course?
Being an online course on demand, you will be the one to set the pace.
Once you have enrolled in the course, your access never expires, so you can do it at your own pace as you get time. You will be able to access the agenda again and view the materials as many times as you need, with no time limit.
What is the applied methodology?
The course is taught online. You will have access to the course materials and you will be able to study it at your own pace. Each unit ends with a short self-assessment test that will allow you to evaluate your acquired knowledge.
In a complementary way, in some units we propose practical exercises to put into practice everything learned.
Is this course compatible with my version of Lightroom?
The course is based on the latest version of Lightroom Classic CC, however most of the concepts are applicable to earlier versions of Lightroom as well.
What if I don’t have the Lightroom program?
Within the course you will find the links to download the latest version of Lightroom, which comes with a 7-day free trial.
My bank card is in a currency other than the Euro, how do I proceed with the registration and payment?
If you reside outside of Spain, you can also enroll in the course, you simply need to have an international means of payment. If your bank card allows international payments, you can register normally. Your bank will handle the currency conversion automatically in a transparent way for you.
What if I try the lightroom course and I don’t like it?
If you are not satisfied with the course, contact us (from the Aid) and we will immediately refund the amount of your registration.
I will not keep you more. Say goodbye to the fear of using Lightroom. See you inside the course (information and registration here).
