Taking as reference the words of Marco Antonio Suarez Gutierrez, Managing Director from the CVC:

“I want to announce that this type of declaration will continue and the goal is to close the year 2023 with a total of 53,000 protected hectares, in addition to the existing ones. Currently, Valle del Cauca is one of the departments with the most protected areas, with a total of 627 thousand hectares”.

It should be noted that the Aji Island It has an approximate extension of 24,600 hectares of ecosystemsamong them, guandales, mangroves, naidizales, lagoons and humid forests. This precious natural reserve will strengthen the conservation and sustainable use of the fauna and flora that predominates in the Pacific coast area.
