Infallible method to find lost objects

We all lose something important at some point: house or vehicle keys, television or air conditioning remote control, mobile phone inside our own home, documents, etc. Not to mention things that we do not keep carefully because we did not think we would need it again: purchase receipts, invoices, instructions for electronic devices, etc.

The worst thing is that, in those moments, we do not search correctly, but we tend to check the same place over and over again, but never thoroughly, without thinking about the alternatives and letting despair waste all our time and energy.

Some people resort to rituals to find lost objects, such as turning a glass upside down and asking a saint for the object to appear. And maybe it has happened to you that you were looking for something and then you had it right under your nose.

Here you will not find a magical or miraculous solution, but a guide to relax and search using logic that, in most cases, works much sooner than you imagined.

1. Remember the last time you saw it

Just like in detective movies, remembering and describing the last time you saw the lost object is a way to get a lot of information about where it might be. You may have used it in a different place or in a different way than usual the last time, and therefore you have saved it in a different place.

2. Retrace your steps

What have you done since the last time you saw the object until now? Start with the moment you found out you didn’t have it and go back, remembering everything that happened in as much detail as possible.

You may suddenly remember where you left it, or remember that you visited some place or room where you are not usually and could have left it.

3. Does the object bother you?

Many times something is lost because it bothers you and you leave it somewhere unconsciously: so you can lose a ring that you take off because it bothers you in a manual task, an umbrella that you carried in your hand and supported in a business, or something that you had in pocket and bothered you when you sat down.

Remember where and why you might have left it without thinking.

4. Go back to where it was supposed to be

You may have already toured the entire house… But did you look carefully where it should be? Many times the object is simply covered by another or fallen on the floor, but the first time, instead of looking well, you went to look elsewhere.

5. Make a list of places you’ve been

If mentally retracing your steps doesn’t help, try writing them down. Objectifying it on paper serves to remember forgotten details. Then, go find your item at each location.

6. Follow your hunches

If it occurs to you that the item might be somewhere that seems crazy to you, feel free to go look there. What we know as “hunches” or “hunches” often come from our unconscious.

Our mind stores much more information than we register. Therefore, if for example you were clueless and left the keys inside the refrigerator… your brain may retrieve that information when you need it! Do not hesitate to search in that place that seems impossible to you.

7. Visualize the object

To help your mind retrieve unconscious information, you can give it a boost. Carry out a visualization exercise: first imagine the object, and then, that you find them… And where!
