Like all systems, most appliances require more or less regular maintenance and cleaning. Some are more difficult to keep spotless than others, as is the case with refrigerators.
Cleaning a refrigerator inside is no mystery, but the part that we really need to clean better is not so visible. It is the coils that make it work properly.
how to make your refrigerator work as good as the first day
Many probably have a refrigerator similar to this, or the ones with only one door.
Depending on the refrigerator model, the condenser coils may be located in different places:
1. Along the rear of the appliance.
2. Mounted below the appliance and accessible through the rear panel.
3. On the front and with access through the lower grille.
To clean the coils we must remove this grid. In many models we will have to open the doors before.
By pulling first on one side and then on the other, the piece will come loose. We should see something like in the photo.
The condenser coils and the refrigerator fan are responsible for releasing heat to the environment.
If the coils are covered in dust, hair, and debris, the heat will not be released properly, causing the refrigerator’s compressor to work harder to keep the refrigerator cool.
To clean them you can use the vacuum cleaner.
So now you know, just doing this maintenance task once or twice a year will make your refrigerator work better and last longer!
