If you see the whites of your eyes turn yellow, this could be the reason

Our body is a unit; For this reason, and although many times it is thought of part by parts, each problem that appears in one place has repercussions in others, even very far away from that one. It is that everything is internally interrelated, whether we see it or not.

The case of the eyes is very particular, since they can say much more about health than you think. For example, iriologists observe patterns, colors, and other cues in the iris of the eye that correspond to specific parts of the body.

For this reason, just as the eyes are said to be “the windows of the soul”, they can also be those of the body. If they turn yellowish, for example, it could indicate a problem with your health.

In general, the yellow tint in the usually whitish part of the eye (sclera) may be due to: hepatitis or jaundice, or other problems.

Hepatitis

Hepatitis is an inflammation of the liver which is the largest organ within the body with the function of helping to digest food, store energy and eliminate toxins. In most cases, hepatitis is caused, in its different types, by viruses.

Jaundice

It may be due to a defect in the elimination of bilirubin, which is a compound that comes from the blood as waste from hemoglobin (the protein responsible for transporting oxygen to red blood cells).

If the excess of bilirubin produced in the body exceeds the amount that the liver is capable of eliminating, it accumulates in the tissues, and generates a yellowish tone.

The yellow hue could also indicate:

  • Problems in the functioning of the pancreas.
  • Calculi in the gallbladder.
  • Excess stress.
  • Anemia.

If you notice this change in color in the whites of your eyes, you should go to the doctor so that your case can be accurately studied.
