I am a lifelong Disney fan and have been visiting Disney World in Orlando, Florida since I was 3 years old. But it wasn’t until September that I took my first cruise.

I have always had reservations about spending several nights at sea, but when Disney announced its new ship, the Disney Wishin 2021I was too excited to let myself be carried away by fear.
I didn’t know that my tension would continue to grow over the next few months.
I booked a trip on one of the first sailings in June 2022, but Disney cancelled it shortly after because the ship’s construction was not finished.
I then rebooked for a date in July but was denied boarding when my sister tested positive for COVID-19 at the port.
But finally, on September 2nd, I managed to get on the ship for a 3-day cruise to the Bahamas.
Disney cruises are expensive, so I opted for the cheapest room available. Although it was only $1,272 (1,278 euros at current exchange rates) per person and had no window, my cabin exceeded my expectations.

The Disney Wish travel prices They vary depending on the date you book, the number of people traveling with you, the room you choose, and other factors.
The original cost of my trip was $3,285.04 (€3,300), or $1,548 (€1,555) per person. When I rescheduled, the total for my September trip was $2,707.52 (€2,720), or $1,272 (€1,278) per person.
The Disney Wish trips would cost the same for a solo traveler, since Disney charges single occupancy rates to solo travelers.
But of course, it’s not just the room you pay for. The total also includes meals, selected drinks, onboard activities, swimming pools, and even more amenities than you might have expected.
When I arrived at my inside stateroom, I was greeted with Cinderella-themed décor and an envelope with my room number on it.
Amanda Krause/Insider
From the outside, I could see that the room had two types of locks – one manual and one with a card reader – and a peephole.
Inside the envelope were room keys for my sister and me.
Amanda Krause/Insider
Room keys were essential to our trip as they unlocked our room, activated the lights, were used to load purchases into our room, and allowed us to embark and disembark the ship at ports.
The room was as small as I had imagined, measuring approximately 15.7 square meters. But my first impression was good.
Amanda Krause/Insider
I found the bathroom to be quite luxurious for such a small space. And the same goes for the room in general: my sister and I had no problem sharing the space between the two of us.
There was warm, cozy lighting, plush seating, plenty of storage space, a bright painting of a ‘Cinderella’ scene on the wall, and a cozy bed.
Amanda Krause/Insider
There were no windows in the space, as my cabin was located inside the boat, but I didn’t mind.
The room felt cozy without a porthole, and I was actually grateful not to have to look out at the dark ocean late at night.
To my left, I found the main vanity, a mirror and a stool.
Amanda Krause/Insider
The set included a tall cabinet, 3 drawers, small shelves for storing tissues, a telephone and power outlets. There was also a remote control for the television and 4 crystal glasses placed on the dark wooden cabinet.
However, no element stood out more than the square mirror, which was surrounded by bright LED lights.
The closet contained luxury items, such as fluffy robes, and cruise items, such as life jackets.
Amanda Krause/Insider
I first noticed 2 white robes, a small safe, and a laundry bag with the Disney Cruise Line logo on it.
But when I noticed the vibrant orange life jackets, I realized I would soon be traveling in the middle of the ocean.
Right next to the closet was a small drawer with safety rails and hair tools.
Amanda Krause/Insider
There was a hair dryer in a drawstring bag and a blue mat on which hair tools could be placed.
In addition, instructions for travelling with lithium batteries and protocols for criminal activity were kept in this drawer.
Under that drawer was a larger drawer with a mini fridge inside.
Amanda Krause/Insider
It wasn’t very cold or spacious, but I didn’t mind. After all, I only ate in my room once during the weekend of the trip.
Finally, there was a stationery drawer with adorable postcards.
Amanda Krause/Insider
One of the postcards showed the Disney Wish shipwhile the other showed Minnie Mouse and Mickey Mouse in their cruise attire. There was also a pen and two sheets of paper inside.
To the left of the drawer were two door hangers, which could be used to place room service orders for breakfast.
In front of the dresser was a sofa bed.
Amanda Krause/Insider
Even the sofa matched the Cinderella-themed room’s decor, as its fabric was a deep navy blue shade with gold threads.
In that area there was also a small table, a small wastebasket, and a framed piece of art depicting Cinderella and her carriage.
Between the sofa and the dresser was the room’s bathroom.
Amanda Krause/Insider
There was a full-length mirror on the door, which I appreciated when choosing my clothes each morning.
I found the bathroom impressive for being so small.
Amanda Krause/Insider
The bathroom was well lit and had several shelves along the sink for storing toiletries. There were also soft towels, makeup remover soap and body lotion.
On the other side of the bathroom, I was surprised to find a small bathtub. There was also a retractable clothesline in the shower and essential bath products such as shampoo, conditioner and body wash.
On the other side of the bathroom was the main sleeping area.
Amanda Krause/Insider
The sleeping area had a raised double bed with enough space to store suitcases underneath.
There was also a Cinderella-themed piece of art above, showing the princess’s carriage on the way to the castle.
If you wanted to separate this sleeping area from the sofa, you could untie the green curtain that was hanging in the center of the room.
There was no shortage of Disney details in this space.
Amanda Krause/Insider
Both the pillows and the sheets, for example, had a white Mickey print. The pillows were also decorated with Mickey shapes embroidered in gold.
There was also a TV in the seating area, which I thought was a decent-sized flat screen.
Amanda Krause/Insider
The television was one of my favorite features of the room.
It played informational videos about embarkation and disembarkation days, had a channel that showed a map of where we were sailing, and another that offered the view from the front of the ship.
38 photos that show what the MSC Virtuosa looks like inside, the latest smart cruise ship inaugurated by the shipping company whose godmother is Sophia Loren and which has a water park, 93 meters of screen in the gallery and even a robot waiter
There were also regular TV channels and a wide selection of free Disney movies to watch whenever you wanted.
Next to the bed there was more space for storing things or carrying them.
Amanda Krause/Insider
On each side was a small nightstand with a single drawer and 2 USB charging ports. There was also a small lamp and a reading light on each side.
I loved the room I stayed in, even though I didn’t spend much time in it.
Amanda Krause/Insider
During my Disney Cruise Vacation I quickly learned that there were endless activities to participate in, so I didn’t spend much time relaxing in my cabin.
But when I was there, whether sleeping at night or changing clothes midday, I couldn’t ask for more in that space. The bed was comfortable, storage was plentiful, and the lighting was bright, yet warm.
The only thing my sister and I disagreed on was the lack of windows. While I was fine without one, my sister said she would have preferred a similar room with a porthole. However, she enjoyed the space.
So if I were to go back take another Disney cruise in the futurethere’s no doubt I would opt to save some money and stay in an inside cabin again.
