When the high temperatures of summer arrive, it is not surprising that many seek to cool off in a pool. This luxury, so sought after during hot weather, can be yours with this project created by Torben Jung, a man from Sweden who built it for the first time and to whom this idea belongs. You will need some wooden pallets, as well as a lot of desire and time to build it.
1. In the original project, Torben started with nine pallets and placed them upright on a heavy-duty tarp. You can design it as you prefer. With each pallet arranged in the desired shape and size, assemble the pool frame.
2. Next, connect all the pallets with wood (it can be recycled strips, as in the case of Torben) and nail them to firmly join the top of each pallet, where they touch. To give it additional support, join them in the same way at the side seams. Finish by strengthening the structure by wrapping it with heavy-duty straps.
3. The next step was to line the entire inside of the canvas with towels and fluffy blankets to cushion the edges and bottom; key modification for the comfort of those who bathe.
4. For the placement of the surface canvas, the original design proposes the use of staples. Special care must be taken when covering the edges of the structure, since snags in the corners and edges can cause the canvas to tear and end up breaking. For this, it is best that it is on canvas and that there are no parts where the fabric is tight.
5. Once the blankets and tarps are securely in place, what Torben Jung did was tape them in place with duct tape, securing the structure.
6. Finally: the final touches. As seen in the image, Jung created an outer shell made of bamboo and a wooden rim for aesthetic purposes. You can do like him, who sanded the top wood to avoid splinters and attached it to the rest of the structure by nailing it to the rest of the pallets, thus also making sure that the canvas lining is fixed in the middle.
Enjoy your new creation and avoid heat stroke!
