How to make simple biodegradable pots

If you are starting to work in your garden and want to achieve healthy and beautiful plants, this idea is special for you, since it will allow you to grow small seedlings before placing them in their final place.

The biodegradable pots that you will learn to make here are very simple, they are made with newspaper that you probably have in your house, and they are practical and economical. In addition, you will be able to avoid plastic pots that, although they are easily accessible in the market, damage the environment due to their composition.

By using these pots as an intermediate step before planting in the ground, you will be helping the plants to strengthen their roots, which will make subsequent repotting more effective. Also, you can even directly place the seeds in this pot; for which it will help you a lot to do this germination trick beforehand.

Look how simple it is to make them:

Process

1. Cut the paper to the size you want your pot to be; It is preferable that it is not very large.

2. Make a fold or more to the paper to give it more consistency and roll it around what you have chosen as a mold. Try to leave a few extra centimeters below so that you can later build the bottom of the pot.

3. Fold in the extra piece of paper that you have left over to create the bottom of the pot. When it is quite firm, carefully remove the mold from the inside and smooth the edges a bit.

4. Now all you have to do is fill your pot with soil and place your seedlings or seeds inside.

The humidity will degrade the paper and, when it has grown enough, you can transplant it into the ground by directly burying the pot, without the need to remove the paper.
