In this very easy tutorial you will learn how to make macramé fabrics to be able to hang jars and pots in a fun and decorative way.
Dare to innovate!
Instructions
Start with 4-6 strands of yarn that are 2 1/2 times the length you want your final product to be. Fold them in half and tie a knot near the top, forming a bow; this will act as a hook to hang.
Take two adjacent pieces of yarn and tie them into a knot. Repeat this step and make as many pairs of threads as you have threads (if you have 8 threads, then you will make 4 pairs). Repeat this step a few inches lower, forming new pairs of threads.
Continue making knots, spacing more or less to your liking, until you reach the end.
At this point, tie all the threads together in one knot tightly. In the middle of the structure put a terracotta pot or a glass jar.
You can use any type of thread as long as you see that it is consistent with the container you want to hang. If it is a heavy pot then try to find a stronger and thicker thread.
As you learn to do it, you can try innovating with new knots. You just have to cheer up! Maybe you will become an expert in macramé.
