How to make a wine cabinet with pallets

The possibilities of reusing pallets are really many. With them you can build sofas, beds, swings, tables, pools, decks, etc. Every day someone invents a new use for it and the ideas will keep coming!

This is so because, in addition to being easily accessible, pallets are very versatile, have a very particular rustic style, and using them again does not imply a significant cost of money.

In this note you will learn to give it a new use by building your own winery. If you are one of those who have always wanted to have one in your home, with this step-by-step you will be able to build it economically and enjoy good wine, giving your decoration an original touch and helping the environment.

Materials

-Pallet
-Saw
-Sander or sandpaper
-Hammer
-Drill
-Nails for wood
-Measuring tape

Process

1. Before starting, check the pallet you are going to use to make sure that the boards are not broken anywhere. Then, with the help of the tape measure, measure your pallet from one of the bases to approximately the middle. Make a small mark on the wood.

2. Cut with the siella where you made the mark. Make sure the cut is even.
3. Sand it to a smooth finish.

4. Once again, use the tape measure to measure the free spaces left at the base of your pallet after cutting it.

5. According to the measurement you have taken, use two pieces of wood from the part of the pallet that you have left over to make the base of your furniture. Separate them with the help of the hammer.
6. Cut them with the saw.
7. Take the measurement of the general length of the pallet and cut another piece of wood that you will use as a lower cup holder.
8. Sand all boards to remove roughness.

9. Use the last separated wood to make the holes for the cups. Try to make them with the same diameter as them, approximately 10 cm apart and symmetrically.
10. Mark the holes and cut them out with a drill.
11. Then, cut a rectangle in the distance between the hole made and the base of the wood so that the foot of the cup will fit, as you can see in the photograph.

12. Arrange the pieces together, line them up and nail the parts together, making sure to leave enough space between the base of the rack and the stemware holder so that the bottoms of the stemware fit comfortably.
13. Finally, varnish the wood or paint it the color you like best. Also, you can use the technique of giving it a coat of white paint and then abrading it with sandpaper to give it an old and original style.
14. Hang your furniture wherever you want.

And ready! You will have your winery finished and you will be able to say: to good wine, cheers!
