Do this project to display your favorite plants in a new way. Green leaves will give your house a touch of freshness and nature. At the same time, the design of the planter will create a rustic style. To do this, you can reuse glass jars and any wooden strips you can find. This considerably lowers the costs of its realization.
Materials
- – Wood: you can reuse any strip.
- – Glass jars: the amount you want. It will depend on the size of the strip.
- – A ruler or a tape measure.
- – A marker.
- – Metal clamps: one per bottle.
- – Union plates: one per bottle.
- – Hooks to hang on the wall.
Instructions1. With the ruler, measure on the wood the space you should leave between each jar. This will depend on the amount you are going to use. With a marker, make marks where you will attach them. In the images, the battens used are 1m long and the jars were placed at a distance of 20cm.
2. Place the joint plate on the wood, in the place where you will fix it. There, make a mark with the marker. Make sure that the plate is centered, since that is where the jar will be located.
3. Put the bottom screw into the joint plate. Screw only three quarters of its length. Slide the metal brace under the gusset plate, and install the top screw.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until you have all the plates and clamps attached to the wooden batten.
5. Use the clamps to hold the glass jars. Make sure to close them tightly so they don’t fall out when you pick up the finished project.
6. Fill the jars with soil and plant inside them the vegetable species that you like the most. Since they won’t have any drainage, you’ll want to add a bit of charcoal to the bottom. Remember to choose a species that does well indoors.7. To hang your planter on the wall, use hooks like those used to hang pictures.
