Materials

– 3 terracotta pots (2 of the same size and 1 larger)

– Stones

– 1 saw

Process

1. First of all, cut the base of one of the small pots to get a circle and a cylinder from it.

2. Next, place the base inside the large pot.

3. Make 12 holes in the bottom of the small pot that you haven’t cut yet, and then place it face up inside the large pot on the base.

4. Take the cylinder you cut and place it upside down inside your oven, matching the mouth of that pot with the one already inside.

Variation: If you don’t have a pot big enough for the two small ones to fit inside, the top of the oven can be outside the stones, as in the photo, or you can use another container, such as a metal pan. The important thing is that it is a material that cannot be ignited by fire.

5. Lastly, fill in the space between the pots with small stones.

Your oven is now finished!

You just have to put charcoal in the bottom and light it, and you’re ready to cook.

One of the most traditional dishes you can make in this tandoor oven is a meat and vegetable brochette. But you can also make simple breads or tortillas, which are cooked attached to the walls of the oven. Everything will be delicious!
