How to make a miniature campfire to decorate your table

Build a small tabletop fire to warm up your next gatherings. Following the same procedure, you can try different shapes and sizes. You can even make something bigger to put on the floor of your patio. Please note that this item is designed to be used outdoors only.

Materials

– Fast-setting cement (the kind you just add water to)
– A handful of boulders
– A plastic container (bowl) that will serve as a mold
– A large can that will also serve to make the mold (it can be, for example, a can of tomatoes, corn or peas)
– Bioethanol gel: it is the fuel gel like the one used for table braziers
– Vegetable spray, oil or Vaseline
– Diary paper
– A plastic container to prepare the cement
– A stick to mix the cement

Process

Follow the steps according to the images shown above:

1. Calculate the amount of cement you will need. For that, fill the plastic container that you will use as a mold with the dry cement mixture.

2. Once you’ve determined how much you’ll need, pour the dry mix into the container you’ll use to prepare the cement.

3. Add a little water in the center of the container and stir with a stick. Be careful not to get too watery or too hard. Read the instructions on the package carefully to avoid making mistakes.

Apply vegetable spray on the mold so that it is well covered with this product. You will need to do this on the inside of the bowl and on the outside of the can.

4. Pour half of the cement into the bowl. Then, place the can in the center of the container and pour the rest of the cement around it.

5. After about 20 minutes, cover the pan with a stack of newspaper and turn it over. You can also use an old towel to do this. If you covered your mold well with the plant spray, the cement should slide right off.

Keep in mind that the drying time may vary depending on the cement you have used.

6 and 7. Place some rocks on the cement around the hole in the center.

8 and 9. Place the fuel gel jar in the hole and light it with a long match. Take all the precautions that the instructions of this fuel say, and remember that you are handling fire and this always implies handling with extra care.
