How to make a homemade and natural antiseptic ointment

When you or someone in your family gets hurt, falls or scrapes you need to have an antiseptic on hand that you can use to, after washing the wound well, disinfect it properly.

For these cases, you can easily learn how to make a homemade alternative that is much cheaper than others that you can buy on the market, and that takes advantage of the natural antibiotic qualities of its ingredients. In addition, you can take it in small packages and thus always have it within your reach for any unforeseen event.

You can also learn how to make an antibacterial gel at home, what are the natural analgesics and anti-inflammatory, how to make an arnica balm for muscle pain; and to know which are the plants with antiviral action.

This ointment combines the antiviral properties of lemon; the contribution of vitamin E from olive oil; and the antibiotic, antifungal, antiviral and antibacterial properties of tea tree oil; with the calming effect and aroma of lavender that you can also learn to plant in your own garden.

  • 45 grams of grated beeswax
  • 1 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon of vitamin E oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon of tea tree oil (Tea tree)
  • 20 drops of lavender essential oil
  • 10 drops of lemon essential oil

Preparation

1. In a saucepan over low heat, melt the wax with the oils (except vitamin E, lemon and lavender).

2. Take the pot off the heat. Add the missing oils, stir with a toothpick and pour the mixture into sterilized jars.

3. Let it rest and cool in a cool, dark place.
