All cats like to hide in small places. With this project, you will be able to satisfy the desires of your feline companion. Make a tent for him using just two hangers, a piece of cardboard, and an old t-shirt. The procedure is very simple, it will take you a few minutes to have it ready. In addition, it will be very easy for you to disassemble it to wash it when necessary.
Materials
– A medium t-shirt
– A piece of cardboard 38 x 38 cm.
– Two wire hangers
– Scotch tape
– Hook pins
– A pliers
Instructions
1. Cut the curved part of the hangers using pliers. Then take them apart to get a flat wire.
2. Shape the wires to get two bows like the ones in the image below. Try to make them as neat as possible. You will need them to go from one corner to the other (diagonally) of the cardboard.
3. If your piece of cardboard has creases, glue some cutouts of the same material over the edges to give the tent more stability.
4. Using the wire from the hangers, make a hole in each corner of the cardboard base. Be careful to make them at least 1.5 cm away from the edge. They shouldn’t be too big either.
5. Cross the wire of the two hangers in an “x” shape and use some masking tape to join them in the center. Secure them well so they don’t move. Then insert its ends into the holes you made in the previous step.
6. Flip the cardboard over so that the part that will rest on the floor is facing up. Fold each of the ends of the hangers and tape them together.
7. Put the structure you put together inside the shirt. The hole to put the head through should be in the front. Fold the excess that will be at the bottom and secure the folds with the safety pins. Do the same with the sleeves to wear them on the cardboard base as well. The fabric should be quite taut.
8. Give your cat his new tent!
