1. Start by building the frames for your swing bench. In this case, 4×4 pressure-treated wood poles have been used; but you can also use unassembled pallets.

2. Using a power saw or hacksaw, cut a slot in both ends of the poles to accommodate the additional support beam.

All angles on the sides must be 18 degrees. Before placing it in the frames, make holes in each end of the piece.

3. Once you have drilled the holes, place the brace into position over the frames and drill then insert the bolts into the legs, and through the brace with a washer on the end. Fit well.

At this point you should also make the holes on both sides of the frames to secure the top rail where the bench will hang with bolts and washers.

4. Add a lower support bracket, and then an upper brace, as you can see in the photo.

At this point, you should also make the holes on both sides of the frames, to secure the top rail where the bench will hang with bolts and washers.

5. Sand and paint the frames. Let dry well.

Note: You can also varnish it to give it more protection.

6. Start building the swing bench by making the side frame, the way you can see in the picture.

7. Then follow through the front and back. Position two 2x4s so they are under the seat, secured at both ends to the frame. This part can be replaced by two pallets.

8. Finally, add the armrests, the back support and more wooden slats for the seat.

You can also make an armchair with two pallets.

9. Sand it, paint it, let it dry and then mount it to the frames or feet with ropes or chains to form your swing set.
