In this case, the house is not buried under the ground, but a cylindrical structure was built above ground level.
Earthbag construction does not have to be improvised or have fewer amenities than a traditional home. For this reason, the first thing that was done was to dig the foundations, and place pipes in the circular trench to supply the house with basic services (which would later be completed with water collection systems and solar panels).
The foundations were covered with stones and gravel.
Then, two rows of cement bags were made, to start the circular wall with a material more resistant than earth. But only two rows is enough; then the earthbag house stands perfectly on its own.
The door and window structures, in this case reused from other constructions, were placed as they were being built and the bags were tied to them so that the openings would remain firm.
The roof can be built with different materials, for example, wood can be used for the internal face; use cardboard as insulation from cold and heat, and cover with mud.
Once the stacked bag structure is complete it is covered in mud and smoothed to perfection; This way of building is much simpler than it seems.
The mud will give the final finish and, at the same time, will reinforce the union of the bags, so it must be placed carefully so that it enters well into the spaces between them.
The construction supports the use of creativity; architecture can be an art: for example, here part of the structure of the windows was filled with a mixture of mud and straw and colored bottles were embedded.
