Almost a year and a half ago, Inditex and the unions reached a “historic agreement”: a minimum wage that would standardise the salary conditions for all employees of the group’s stores in Spain.
Thus, the staff of Zara, Massimo Dutti, Oysho, Zara Home, Stradivarius, Pull and Bear and Bershka are guaranteed a fixed salary scale and variable working conditions and remuneration, regardless of the brands and territories in which they work.
These are the amounts of Fixed minimum wage currently paid to people employed as shop assistants and cashiers at Inditex in all its stores, including Zara:
- Group I (less than 18 months old): 18,000 euros per year.
- Group II (from 18 months to 4 years of seniority): 20,000 euros per year
- Group III (4 years of seniority or more): 22,000 euros per year
- Group IV (store managers and central cashier): 24,500 euros per year of fixed minimum salary
“These new salaries will be paid retroactively from January 1, 2023 and They will be revalued in 2024 and 2025 “based on the evolution of the CPI of the previous year,” he reported then The Country.
These amounts are added to the variables included in each provincial collective agreement (for example, commissions, incentives and night work) and the bonuses or supplements that Inditex pays its workers in some territories, the media adds.
The agreement includes a part variable improved, composed of the 1.4% on sales monthly – previously, the highest percentage was held by Zara, with 1.2% – and an annual incentive recovered of 1,000 euros.

To find out how much Zara workers in Spain earn, you have to refer to the report from Inditex, the group that includes this and the rest of the stores in the empire founded by Amancio Ortega.
These latest figures published today include the following: Average remuneration by professional classification (obtained from data from Spain and the rest of the world where Inditex is present):

This profile includes the shop assistants and the employees of all Inditex stores and brands, such as Zara: they are “employees with an impact due to their individual contribution, related to one of the group’s activities in the areas of design, manufacturing, distribution, logistics, stores, sustainability, technology and other general services.”

Finally, the average salary of women employed at Inditex (three quarters of the workforce) was 27,831 euros gross per year, while that of men was 31,196 euros. This difference is due to “the higher proportion of women in a significant number of markets where the conversion of the local currency results in a lower figure in euros,” explains the firm.
“Remuneration at Inditex is characterised by a fixed component and a variable component”the group explains in the document.
Fixed performance “is determined by experience, personal contribution to work and responsibility within the organization,” while variable performance “depends entirely on predefined, quantifiable and measurable indicators, all linked to the company’s results.”
That is, it does not depend on the individual performance of the worker, but only on “objective parameters”, with the aim of “guaranteeing non-discrimination”.
