How do I take photos traveling alone? –

A common problem when traveling alone is not having someone to take your photos. I have been traveling for 10 years so little by little I have improved my techniques and here are my best tips so that you can take better photos traveling alone, without asking for help, without big equipment and without them being selfies.

Self-timer photos

My favorite way to take photos of myself is with a self-timer. The best thing about this technique is that you don’t need a tripod or any kind of equipment. You only need a cell phone or camera that has a self-timer function.

  1. You select a place, preferably with few people to avoid your cell phone being thrown, stepped on, or stolen.
  2. Framing it, finding a bench, or even using your bag to hold it up is a good idea.
  3. Program the self-timer
  4. Walk away and pose

Other ways to take photos traveling alone

Ask someone for help

Mainly ask other travelers who are taking photos who may have time and not the people who live there.

Use a selfie-drone

Currently there are drones that can take your photographs. Of course this is not a simple addition but it is an option. If you want to know which drone I use click here.

Selfie-Stick

Even though I’m not a fan of selfie sticks, they can be useful for taking certain photos alone. When I have to use them, I use editing so that the stick cannot be seen.

Below is a video where I explain how to take better photos when you travel alone.

Photo editing in a minute

If your photo was not perfect, don’t be discouraged, with editing applications you can fix it in less than a minute. I use Adobe Photoshop Express and if you want to see how I use it click here.
