Go to the Mestizo Radical Festival from December 7 to 8 at the Zócalo, in CDMX –

Mexico City will be filled with national and international music and admission will be free, making it a good option for your weekend.

One of the most anticipated events for hundreds of young Mexicans is, without a doubt, the first edition of the Radical Mestizo festival. The festival will take place on December 7 and 8 on the plaza of the capital’s Zócalo in Mexico City.

This festival breaks with other festivals focused on English-speaking bands that do not consider Spanish-speaking audiences and music.

The schedules

According to a statement from the CDMX Secretariat of Culture, Radical Mestizo will begin on Saturday, December 7 from 12:00 p.m., while on Sunday from 5:00 p.m.

Bands and dates

Saturday 7

The first day the festival will start with the New York band Gogol Borderllo; the Cuban musician, Orishas; and the Nigerian artist, Femi Kuti. In addition, other groups such as 47 Soul, Red Baraat and Kumbia Queers will perform.

Sunday 8

The last day will come to the stage:

  • Ximbo, one of the first Mexican women to enter the world of rap
  • Alemán, a young national Hip Hop artist
  • Residente, best known for being the singer of the famous Puerto Rican band, Calle 13.
