The Hollywood star Bruce Willis (67 years old) ends his acting career for health reasons, after being diagnosed with aphasia, his daughter Rumer Willis reported this Wednesday (03.30.2022), in a post on Instagram.
“Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is affecting his cognitive abilities,” reads the statement that appears signed by the rest of the members of the Willis family.
“As a result, and after careful consideration, Bruce is ending the career that has meant so much to him.” It was a “very difficult time” for the family, but they coped with it as a “strong family unit,” he added.
Aphasia is a cognitive disease that, among other things, involves a disorder of language and spoken or written communication skills.
Born in 1955 in Idar-Oberstein, Germany, the son of an American soldier and his German wife, Willis had worked as an actor since the 1970s, making his name primarily for action films like Die Hard. ). For his successes in the industry, he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, among other honors.
Willis was married to actress Demi Moore from 1987 to 2000; their daughters Rumer, Scout and Tallulah are the fruit of their marriage. Willis has been married to model Emma Heming since 2009, and the couple have two daughters.
