bird house with plastic bottles

We propose some crafts to contribute to the life of the birds, to apply them in the patio of our home, or in the streets.

bird house

Here we will make two forms of birdhouse of those typical that we see in many gardens and country houses, so that the birds that flutter around our garden or patio can nest in it.

With 2 liter bottle

The craft is made with a plastic bottle, so, once again, we are going to make it with recycled material.Materials for crafting:– 2 liter plastic bottle- Paints- Sponge- Wire- Pencil- Scissors- Hot silicone- Auger- String- Brush- Nest- Cutter- Recycled CD Let’s do it:1) Clean the plastic bottle well, inside and out. 2) Make a circle with the pencil, big enough for the birds to enter through it, and cut it out with the cutter. 3) Paint the bottle with the sponge, dipping it in the paint and giving it small taps, until we complete its uniformity. 4) In the bottle cap, make a hole with the auger, to then pass a string, which is where the bottle will be hung. 5) We will take the recycled CDS and we will draw equal triangles between 6 and 8 for each CD. These triangles will later be the roof of the bird house. 6) We paint the triangles in the color that we consider most appropriate, green, brown, red, yellow, etc. 7) Now take the triangles and glue them on top of the bottle, simulating the roof of the house, and making three rows of roof. 8) We will place the nest inside the bottle. And that’s it, we already have our birdhouse.

With a milk bottleIn this case, a liter and a half milk bottle is used,- It is covered with burlap cloth,- The seams and the cords that are attached to the tree with twine- Drill holes for ventilation, especially at the base to evacuate possible rainwater ingress,- Finally, leather brown urethane enamel paint. (The tree is a cherry tree)

Bird Feeder

– The plastic bottle can be the size you prefer and a spoon.

– With the help of scissors, cut two small lines on both sides, these should be in direct direction, one from the other.

– Embed the spoon, in the concave part of the spoon, make a half-moon cut, so the birdseed will come out as the birds eat.

– Hang the dining room from a tree, making a hole in the lid.

– Then pass a rope through the hole to hang it from the tree. A knot on the inside of the cap will secure the rope.

If you use a big enough bottle, you can fit more than one spoon.

Recycling wood and glass bottles

– Cut two pieces of wood from a plank: one 11 x 15 cm and one 31 x 15 cm. – Join with screws or wooden dowels to form a right angle. – Use the glass bottle, mark it together to show where You are going to connect the two wire loops, one near the neck of the bottle and one near its base. The opening of the bottle should be 3 to 4 cm above the base. – Drill the plate holes with an auger and thread the wire through. – Staple the wire to the back of the board to keep it in place. place. The space left between the opening of the bottle and the base will allow the birdseed to flow out gradually. – Screw the hook into the board to hang the bird feeder. – Then fill the bottle close two-thirds full with a bird seed mix. Close the lid, turn the bottle upside down.- Now unscrew the lid and that’s it! The seeds will gradually fill the dish, so that it recharges automatically.

Materials:2 6-inch wooden discs1 piece of wood in the shape of a ball2 circular caps of some plastic mold, or acrylic plates1 screw crown bolt2 nuts1 threaded rodVegetable paints and an eye hookTools: Drill, scissors, a hole punch, and a hacksaw. Step 1: Paint all the pieces with vegetable paint and let it dry completely. The color already depends on your taste.Step 2: Make the holes with the drill through the disc and the cap, so that the holes are the same size, but larger than the threaded rod.Step 3: Cut the bottle of plastic evenly all the way around the circumference with scissors. Using a hole punch, add an opening large enough for the seed to slide through. Step 4: Measure the length of the screw you need to secure your feeder together, then using a hacksaw, cut the threaded rod to the measured length .Step 5: We join all the pieces of our feeder ensuring that the holes are at the bottom of its feeder so that gravity pushes the seeds. Fill with a variety of seeds and hang it on a tree so that the birds come to eat And voila, this is what your bird feeder should look like.
