A massive and carbon neutral festival is possible. To prove it, Bioferia returned with its third edition on the weekend of May 6, 7 and 8 at the Palermo Hippodrome, under the motto “I lived consciously, I consumed responsibly”.
His return was once again supported by the Government of the City of Buenos Aires and it took place under a radiant sun that offered more than 40,000 visitors the possibility of living a unique experience with talks, workshops, activities and music in the open air; and to be in contact with 250 stands of entrepreneurs, organizations and companies that promote sustainable initiatives.
In alliance with Ministry of Public Space and Urban Hygiene of the CityBioferia 2022 disclosed the various environmental issues with the aim of supporting innovation to build a circular economy, adopt healthy and conscious habits and promote an ecological transition with a focus on regeneration.

This edition was possible thanks to the collaborative work with Ofelia Sustainable Market, ARQA, MADZEN, Kundalini Libre, the Association of Plant-Based Producers of Argentina and . The theme areas this year were architecture, wellness, gardening, mobility, energy, sustainable fashion, product, design, ecotourism, market, life in nature, gastronomy, NGOs and childhood.
“Bioferia is possible thanks to the collaboration of hundreds of organizations, companies and enterprises from all over the country that seek to generate a positive impact. Today more than ever we believe that responsible consumption is the gateway for the mass public to a more conscious life” , expressed Valentín Abella, director of Bioferia.
The proposal was carried out through experiences, activations, talks in an amphitheater surrounded by native plants with references from the entrepreneurial and sustainable world, and “Chats under the tree”, a format of meetings under a eucalyptus that brought together different people sheltered in its shadow to exchange ideas and feelings based on triggers such as the beauty of diversity or the secrets of native plants.
The edition had two islands, one of Wellness in which there were activities such as yoga classes, harmonization with gongs and sensory experiences with bowls; and one of Childhood sponsored by Zafranito, who brought puppets, games with compostable materials, music and workshops that entertained and educated the families who came to the space. Both had intervened geometric domes that functioned as spaces to carry out the different activities.
Also during the Bioferia, the books “Notes from an environmentalist” by Máximo Mazzocco, founder of EcoHouse, and “How we broke the world and how we can fix it” by Dafna Nudelman, the activist and promoter of responsible consumption known as “@lalocadeltaper” were presented. ”.
The great staging surprised those who visited Bioferia, for the architectural design of the proposal, for the art present during the tour and for the materials used, since a large part of the assembly was made from industrial waste and the posters were printed with graphics and biodegradable vinyl.
Likewise, to avoid the greater amount of waste and plastic, compostable crockery was used, recyclable and compostable waste was separated at source, and multiple water refilling stations were offered for reusable bottles. In addition, the carbon footprint that will be offset together with Circular Carbon.

This year, the meeting in Palermo had the support of companies such as Ledesma NAT, Santander, Garnier, Vivet, Limpiolux, Epicca and Broker Andino.
The musical moments were spaces for enjoyment and closure of each day thanks to the music of artists such as Lucas Cervetti, Joaquín del Mundo, Julián Mourin, Josefina Armendariz, Victoria Lynch & Facundo Pacheco, Tus planta, Octavio Suñe, Alex Solio, Maxi Pachecoy, José Soubirón and Mar de amares.
Bioferia offered an experience that was lived with great joy and invited once again to travel the growing and progressive path that implies living more consciously considering the impact of our actions and consumption for the environment, to connect with nature and to wake up to activate and be part of the solutions we need as inhabitants of a planet in ecological and climate crisis.
The Bioferia team thanks those who joined, supported and made this meeting possible, with the aim of bringing responsible consumption closer as a tool, necessary but not sufficient, that we have within our reach to reverse the environmental crisis we are going through, through the various spaces that took place simultaneously during this weekend to learn, experiment and break prejudices to start acting.
