A bicycle, which looks like a car!

Although the bicycle is one of the sustainable forms of transport that brings the greatest benefits to the user, many times the cold, the rain or even, in some places, the snow means that its use may be limited.

This is what happens in Sweden, where, in some areas, snow falls from October to May. That’s why designer Mikael Kjellman created “PodRide”, a bike-car that can travel in all kinds of weather and over almost any terrain.

This bike features four wheels wrapped in a waterproof cover, and designed to look like a real car. It’s narrow enough to drive on a bike path, but as tall as a small car. Its design allows easy driving, even on ice or snow. It has studded tires, which are often used on icy terrain.

In addition, it has a small trunk, a heated windshield, air suspension, a seat with a backrest and a tow bar to carry additional luggage. But best of all, all this does not generate any carbon emissions.

This model is equipped with a 250-watt electric bicycle motor that allows it to reach up to 15.5 miles per hour and, with a fully charged battery, can go a distance of 37.2 miles. But the user can also use the pedals if they prefer.

“Cars are practical bikes, good for your health, economical to run, good for the environment, and fun to drive,” notes their creator, Kjellman.

This system is now added to the designs of the most beautiful bicycles on the planet, adding the ability to be resistant to water, and to keep the driver dry and comfortable. Therefore, based on development, opting for sustainable mobility to travel every day can become a possible ecological alternative, and fun!
