If you are in a relationship, you should know that these do not occur as one would like overnight. Sharing life with another person implies building love day by day. For this reason, there may be good times, and others in which they do not have such a good time. It’s normal, but the good thing is that you can improve your relationship if you wish.
Sometimes big changes are not necessary. Not even a great effort. Rather, the relationship improves significantly by understanding what little things hurt you and trying to change them.
That is not why we must stop recognizing that sometimes it is complicated. But start small. Implement these changes for a day, then a week, until they finally become part of your relationship.
Enjoy your partner and love!
1. Lower the expectation
Generally, our look at love is highly conditioned. For Disney, Hollywood, and afternoon soap operas. We feel that love has to be a certain way, or not at all.
But really, the only thing that determines whether your relationship is worth it is how it makes you feel. So be realistic. What do you want? What do you need? What makes you good? If your partner gives you all that, it doesn’t matter if he is not the prince of the story or the perfect maiden.
2. Go through trials together
Sometimes you fear facing challenges with the relationship. Commitment, or making important decisions, is avoided. But the truth is that getting through difficult situations with your partner will make you much more united and help improve the relationship.
3. Do not spend criticizing
Surely there are many things that your partner could improve… And what about you? Criticizing the things you don’t like about the person next to you is an extremely damaging attitude for the relationship.
Constructive criticism is fine. You can make suggestions from time to time, and give your opinion. But really, don’t turn into a whiner, because that’s not going to improve your relationship.
4. Be nice
Say nice things to your partner, treat them with respect, remind them how much you care. Don’t think it’s just a matter of coexistence. It has been shown that it is also good for the health of the relationship (literally).
It has been shown that people whose partners are cold and unfriendly are more likely to have heart problems and are less stress tolerant.
So you already know. Being kind to your partner can extend your life!
5. Talk about your problems
Being afraid to talk about problems is the worst way to deal with them. Or do you think that indifference makes problems go away?
If you want to improve your relationship, you must solve the problems. And to solve them, they must own them and commit to changing them.
Communication is essential at this point.
6. Talk about sex
And speaking of communication, another good idea is to discuss matters of sex openly. Sometimes out of shame or fear, the needs and desires of each one regarding sex are not expressed.
But it has been shown that couples who have good communication in this regard enjoy their intimacy much more.
7. Call each other
Nothing worse when it comes to solving something, than doing it by Whatsapp. It is impersonal, and it is not uncommon for it to lead to misunderstandings and problems.
If you have to talk about something important… Call each other!
