This is the second of a mini-series of two articles where in one we already present arguments in favor of the use of Photoshop, highlighting its advantages and its contributions to photographic art, while in the next one, the one you are reading right now, we present reasons for No use Photoshop, due to the blatant damage that this has caused to a beautiful art such as photography.
Let’s see what are the reasons to avoid its use at all costs. I will list them for you and then we will see them one by one:
- doctor the photographs
- You have to pay it or become a thief
- Human art falls by the wayside
- makes you lazy
- It takes extra time
- High risk of making disasters
- Makes us all too much alike
7 Reasons NOT to Use Photoshop
1. Fake photos
Photoshop transforms photos into a reality that never existed Really.
2. Pay dearly or become a thief
If you want Photoshop you have to pay a considerable amount of money or become a thief. If you want to be correct and use a legal version of Photoshop you will have to pay a monthly fee or, the other alternative would be to get a pirated version, thus incurring an illegality and exposing your computer to possible risks of viruses, Trojans and a lot of crap that usually accompany the pirated programs (didn’t you know? welcome to earth friend).
3. Human art loses its weight and charm…
…and is blurred by the computation of a computer. It is no longer easy to be impressed by a photograph, seeing the number of photos today resulting from that laboratory called «Photoshop».
4. Photoshop makes us lazy
Yes, totally unconcerned when it comes to the photography we are capturing. we think “Yes, I will correct it later in Photoshop”. The real photography happens inside the sensor of your camera, through the shutter, and not a posteriori.
5. Photoshop is a waste of extra time
He has extra time to retouch each photograph produced. In the past we used to waste a minute preparing and shooting a photo with the camera, but today in addition to that minute we have to add another 15 or 30 minutes of processing in Photoshop (it can be more time, it can be less, but in the end it is additional time).
6. Serious risk of committing ATROCITIES
The risk that the game of manipulation always carries. Do you want examples? Search google for “photoshop disasters” and you will laugh for a while. Although you can also watch this video to get an idea 😉 :
7. Photoshop makes us all look like everyone
The automatism of the program means that we all follow the same steps, the same tutorials and that we all end up with identically the same results. Photoshop kills creative individuality.
Think about it for a moment: if they removed computers from this world, if they removed Photoshop, would you still be able to take good pictures?
Do you agree? Do you also think that Photoshop is a disease that photography suffers from? Do you think it is being overused? If you dream of a world with more genuine photos and less Photoshop, please recommend this article. If not, don’t do it.
