Intestinal gas, also called flatulence, is a normal digestive problem, but very uncomfortable. Actually it is not a disease in itself, but a symptom of some digestive discomfort, such as indigestion.
The gases are produced by some intestinal bacteria, and are generally composed of hydrogen, carbon dioxide and methane (the one that generates the bad smell) which may contain sulfur.
Gases are always generated in the intestine, but when the state of health is good, these are produced in minute quantities. However, when there are digestive problems, these become very common, and can be very uncomfortable for those who suffer from it.
If you have this problem, don’t be embarrassed: it’s much more common than you might think. Better, try to reverse it with these natural remedies.
1. Lemon juice with baking soda
Lemon is a powerful digestive agent, due to its acidity. By combining its juice with baking soda, you will obtain a natural effervescent remedy that will relieve intestinal inflammation, reduce acidity, and help you eliminate gas.
You just have to mix the juice of a lemon in half a glass of water and add a quarter teaspoon of baking soda.
Take preferably after lunch and dinner.
2. Hot water cloths
This is a natural remedy that will not only help reduce gas, but also relax the stomach.
You just have to take a rag and soak it in hot water. Then lie down and put the cloth on your stomach. If the abdomen relaxes, the expulsion of gases will be reduced and you will feel better. The best thing about this remedy is that you don’t have to ingest anything, so it’s the right one when you’re not sure if any other might be counterproductive.
3. Anise infusion
Anise helps to eliminate gas and the stomach and intestinal pain that these cause.
To prepare a tea with this ingredient, you just have to heat a cup of water until it boils, add a teaspoon of anise powder and let it rest.
Take this infusion daily, and you will notice an incredible improvement, and even the total disappearance of the symptoms.
4. Fermented foods
Although it may sound strange and counterproductive. fermented foods increase the microbacterial flora, avoiding the production of intestinal gases and favoring their elimination.
Many of these foods can be found in health food stores. One that works very well for the elimination of gases is tempeh, originally from Indonesia, which is produced from the fermentation of soybeans.
5. Garlic
The garlic clove is digestive and anti-inflammatory, which is why it is another great remedy against gas. To have better effects, it is preferable to consume it raw.
A good way to prepare a home remedy with garlic is to prepare a paste with several raw cloves. Then it can be mixed with a small amount of black pepper and a few cumin seeds.
Finally, you have to place all the preparation in a cup of hot water, strain and let cool.
If it is taken 2 or 3 times a day, great effects will be achieved.
